Tell us all about your wedding!
Rachel: My husband and I decided to get married in an intimate ceremony in Ochos Rios, Jamaica. 🙂 We had a small group of some of our closest family and friends coming with us so we wanted it to be easy to travel to but lots of entertainment options and Sandals Ochi did NOT disappoint! I had a specific vision for our wedding and the Sandals team really did make it come to life. We brought our photographer mostly due to wanting a certain style of photography that I knew wasn’t offered at Sandals. We decided last minute onsite to have the ceremony at the over the water chapel and HOLY MOLY I’m so glad we did! It was BEYOND gorgeous!! For our reception, we went with a family style dinner in the reef terrace where we were surrounded with tropical flowers and a beautiful Jamaican sunset. We picked out our menu prior to our arrival the food for our wedding was probably some of the best food we’ve ever had. Afterwards, we went back and changed and had such a fun night of dancing with our crew at the Speakeasy! So many sweet and beautiful and fun memories made! We wouldn’t have done it any differently. 🙂
What made you decide to get married at Sandals Ochi?
Rachel: We wanted it to be intimate and we wanted to be somewhere romantic and tropical but fun! Ochi offered the most entertainment and was reasonably affordable for our guests compared to some of the other islands. The scenery was BEAUTIFUL and the food was delicious! Jamaica at the time was the easiest to travel to during the pandemic prior to the vaccine being available.
Which vendors and brands were involved in your wedding?
Rachel: Emmy Mae was my dress designer (purchased from Barefoot Bride in Memphis, TN), photographer was Shelbi Raines, food & drink catered by Sandals, we brought our own small details and decor as well as our own music (brought an easy to travel with bluetooth speaker and played it during the reception for background music), flowers by Sandals and hair/ makeup by myself/ friends with me.
How was it working with Carlie at 2 Travel Anywhere?
Rachel: We are using Carlie for our 2nd Sandals trip to St. Lucia and so far she has been AMAZING. She is so knowledgeable, quick to respond and so easy to work with. We are so happy to have found her!
Why would you recommend going somewhere tropical for your wedding?
Rachel: Weddings can be stressful! And for being a type A person, I wanted our wedding to be as stress free as possible. Being at Sandals, we really didn’t have to worry about much! There wasn’t a lot of pressure for things to go super perfect because it was a smaller group and even if something did go wrong, how could anyone be upset?? We were in paradise!!
Would you stay there again?
Rachel: I loved Ochi but it was definitely big! I would stay there again with a group but for just me and my husband, we’re excited to try some of the more intimate properties. I would definitely recommend Ochi though for traveling with bigger groups!
Is there anything else you’d like to share about your wedding?
Rachel: We had the best day! Would do it all over again if we could!
