Bailee and Damian got married in a timeless and classic way but yet still very romantic at the Nashville venue, The Ruby Cora! Once high school rivals turned into passion and finding something special in one another. Bailee showed up wearing a gorgeous plunge neckline spaghetti strap wedding dress while Damian and the rest of the wedding party were all sleek in black. Not only that, but then check out the outfit change for the reception! Bailee also had something else up her sleeve and surprised her groom in a “sweet” way. How did you guys meet?
Bailee: This was our little snippet on our website ◡̈ ¨̮ Bailee and Damian have an interesting dynamic on how their story unfolded. Bailee and Damian’s high schools were rivals. Bailee cheered and Damian played basketball. You can probably already tell how this all unfolded but should you know, Damian slid in the DM’s (I’m sure secretly to all his Clarksville Academy teammates) after his game against Montgomery Central (Battle of the River: Basketball Edition). Fast forward years later, Damian proposed to Bailee on May 18, 2022 at the beach with their dearest friends from BOTH CA and Central 😉 safe to say they turned rivals into lovers!
Tell us about your engagement!
Bailee: Damian had planned a fun little trip to the beach with a couple of our closest friends at the time and said it would be great since we started back nursing school and pharmacy soon. He had been planning this for months and got together a photographer, videographer, balloon setup, a charcuterie board setup, and marquee letters to make out engagement perfect & it was!
What was the vision for your wedding?
Bailee: The vision was classic black and white. I wanted everything to look very timeless and elegant and all of my vendors exceeded my expectations.
What was your theme and what inspired it?
Bailee: Definitely modern style! I got inspired from my TikTok for you page lol! There’s so many places to get inspiration from but there’s where I found lots of my diy projects!
What details were used to create your theme?
Bailee: We used black and white theme. My dad and brother created a white wooden backdrop with black wooden letters with our last name as decor and a balloon garland. I let my florist Dalette take the reins on the florals because I’m not knowledgeable on them and she completely knocked it out of the park!
Where did you splurge? Where did you save/DIY?
Bailee: I definitely splurged on my wedding planner, my florist, and the dessert bar! I felt like those three definitely made the day what it became. I wanted the day to go seamlessly and it definitely did with the help of Cheryl! Everyone also loves admiring decor and food so splurging there was a hit! I saved on table decor and alcohol. I decided to do beer, wine, and seltzers which everyone still loved. And in my opinion, you only sit at the table to eat and then everyone hits the dance floor so no reason to waste money fixing up the table for less than an hour sitting there!
What words of advice do you have for couples in the midst of their planning?
Bailee: ENJOY THE PROCESS! It’s so easy to stress about all of the little details and fuss and argue with your partner but at the end of the day, you’re planning for your wedding so enjoy it! Everything will come together and you won’t remember all of the little things.
Can you share any special moments or highlights from your wedding day?
Bailee: Surprising my husband with a grooms cake was definitely one of our special moments! He begged for one and I had him one in the making without him knowing and it was the best surprise! Another moment would be our last dance. That moment was so special and we are so glad we decided to have that to ourselves!
