Tell us about your engagement!

Darby: Andrew and I both went to school at Ole Miss. Oxford has a special place in our hearts because that is where we met and fell in love. So it was only fitting to get engaged there as well. One night we were supposed to have dinner at Andrew’s parent’s house in Oxford. Andrew told me we should go grab a drink at the Country Club before eating dinner. After drinks, we took the golf cart back to the house. I was rambling on to Andrew about who knows what, when he all of a sudden he stops at the Number 2 tee box. He said he wanted to talk to me so we get out of the golf cart. That’s when he decided to propose and got on one knee! Once we got back to the house, Andrew had surprised me with all of our closest friends and family to celebrate our engagement!! It was a night that we will never forget!!

What was the vision for your wedding?

Darby: I would say the one word that I dreamed of for my wedding would be romantic. We wanted it to be our closest friends and family. And all we wanted was to have a good time and for it to be a night we would always remember!

What was your theme and what inspired it?

Darby: The theme we wanted to go with was classic. We had a church wedding with reception to follow. The venue had exposed brick in a refurbished powerhouse. Colors included whites, gold, greenery, and a touch of blush.

Can you share any special moments or highlights from your wedding day?

Darby: The most special moment during the day was the first look. Being able to see Andrew for the first time on our wedding was so special to me. Getting to spend the day with my best friend made it the best day ever!

What are some tips you can share with other brides planning their weddings?

Darby: Enjoy every moment!! It goes by so fast and don’t sweat the small stuff!

Is there anything else you’d like to share about your wedding?

Darby: We had a blast!! We could not have done it without all of the help from our wedding team that made the day go so seamlessly!!

Absolutely beautiful, Darby and Andrew! Congratulations! If you loved this sweet and simple southern wedding by Eliza Kennard Photography, see more of her work HERE and on Instagram!
