Tell us about your company + how long you’ve been in business.
Elizabeth: With Whimsy and Wilder has been in business full time since 2015, photographing 30-40 weddings a year. I work hard at building a friendship with my bride and groom. On wedding days you can see me helping put the bride’s dress on (I am an expert at those buttons), fixing the garter if it starts slipping, boob checking because sometimes strapless dresses can start falling (I got you, ladies), pinning the boutonnieres on the groom and groomsmen, doing The Wobble at the reception(I love dancing), stepping in and saying no for the bride and groom when people just won’t listen, and best of all you can find me knowing in my heart that my couples can turn to me at the end of the night with nothing but happiness knowing they didn’t have to worry about any hiccups because they knew I had their back. I am there from your engagement session, and now I am still a small part of my couple’s lives and photograph their kids.
How did you get started in weddings?
Elizabeth: I started second shooting back in 2012 and learned that weddings were my thing.
What are your strengths compared to other photographers?
Elizabeth: My couples always come back for photos as their lives keep going. I have built friendships with all of my couples and have photographed multiple of their children. On the wedding day, I work hard at not letting my couple stress. I take on the role of wedding coordinator to ensure the day runs smoothly so my couple can enjoy their day without worrying about anything.
What attracts couples to your business?
Elizabeth: My couple is a couple who embraces the joy in life. They adventure and explore new things together. They work as a team to solve problems and grow stronger in that. They embrace their awkwardness and silliness.
What is the most innovative new product, service, style or other aspect of your industry that brides and grooms might appreciate?
Elizabeth: My style of photography is classic and timeless. In twenty years they will still love their photos because they are edited with a timeless look.
