Elegant and timeless with a touch of disco fever. Matt and Olivia’s wedding was all things classic, just how they wanted it to be. The two of them wanted to make sure their wedding was all things ageless and so they went with black and white colors with white roses and babies breath. Truly stunning. Not only was that stunning, but they added a little extra flavor with a special hanging installation that help liven up the reception, disco balls! Olivia contributes much of the wedding success to her planner team, PLS Coordinate, along with the Saint Elle, the venue. Special thanks to Lisa Rhea, wedding photographer.

How did you meet?
Olivia: Hinge
Tell us about your engagement!
Olivia: It brings tears to my eyes talking about my engagement. I woke up like every other day, Matt let me know he was going to his parents house for the whole day to help his dad in the yard. I had a friend in town and she had just gone through a breakup and let me know she wanted to take some pictures on the walking bridge to post LOL. So I got dressed (in all black) and made my way on the bridge with NO idea what was about to happen. As soon as I saw Matt and our dog with a little white bandanna I knew. I sobbed and he proposed to me at the walking bridge downtown and had a photographer. There was even an artist playing music for us on the bridge. Later that night I walked into a room with all my friends and family who flew across the county to surprise us and celebrate. I still can’t believe he pulled this off with me not knowing at all.
Where did you get your dress/attire?
Olivia: Dress was from a boutique in Boston (where I am from) and the after party dress was from Alice and Olivia (the 12 south location)
What was the vision & theme for your wedding? What details were used to create this vision?
Olivia: We wanted timeless. I wanted to look back just know that any colors I selected wouldn’t make me say “ew”. I wanted to also follow in my parents footsteps by having a similar color scheme they had at their wedding. The goal was classy, sleek, and elegant. From the invitations down to the small details such as candles and florals I wanted to look back on the style of that day and know it aged like fine wine.
Where did you splurge? Where did you save?
Olivia: We definitely splurged on the disco ball installation and the open bar. I just know from past experiences where the bar was SO limited it left a bad taste in my mouth. And we had the budget to do so. The disco ball installation was my little piece of flair for the wedding. We elected not to have a floor installed for this. I saw an instagram post of the disco ball installation and fell in LOVE. We saved on our florals. All the bridesmaids made their own bouquets and it was so easy and fun to do that day to take everyone’s stress away. We also elected to have only a personal cake for Matt and I but provided guest with a dessert bar with tons of options to choose from.
What is your best piece of advice for others planning their wedding?
Olivia: HIRE A PLANNER!!!! I could not have done anything without my planner. Also book everything in far in advance once you and your partner solidify plans. I booked everything out over a year in advance, granted I was stressed for like 3 months into my engagement but up until 2 months out I was worry free and it was amazing. Once you get into event season time flys by and you want to know all your plans are set in stone. Also having the planner keeps you on track. Also watch bridal trends. With everything there are fads with bridal fashion that happen every season. Try to avoid super common trends because they become SO over used during the course of one season.
What was your first dance song?
Olivia: “Always Forever” by Cults
Can you share your favorite memory or any special moments from the day?
Olivia: Some of my favorite moments are the things that went wrong. Matt and I struggling to recite the vows because the sentences were so long. Me putting Matt’s ring on his right hand and having no idea. We also rented a trolley right after the ceremony and had our dogs join us and we drove to a separate location to shoot photos at centennial park. It was so fun to be with the wedding party and just relax and sing and have a great time before the madness.
Is there anything else you’d like to share?
Olivia: Just know things are going to go wrong but you look back and it makes the day so much more special. Also make sure your MOH is well studied in her jobs. My sister crushed it as a MOH. Also don’t forget to take moments to just enjoy the day. It goes by so fast. I just wanted to share that Matt is truly the love of my life and he was so supportive through this whole process even if we argued a little bit. The team who worked on our day was amazing. I cannot thank them enough for being heaven sent.
