Tell us all about the misconceptions of an all-inclusive honeymoon destination!
Carlie: Not all the resorts that offer all inclusive are the same. The trick is to do your research in advance or book with a travel agent (2 Travel Anywhere) who can help guide you on the best resort for the two of you. You may want to know the different between all inclusive and some of the other options available on the vacation market. All-inclusive vs a la carte All inclusive resorts typically cover your lodging, unlimited meals, unlimited alcohol and non-alcohol drinks, gratuities and other services are all included. A La Carte as the name suggest allows you to select what you need for your vacation rather than a combination of services at a fixed rate. Often the A la Carte you will end up paying more than expected at the end of your vacation. All-inclusive vs Half-board: Half-board resorts tend to include some options and services, and not others as part of your package. For example, two meals, such as breakfast and lunch maybe included but not the snacks or unlimited- drinks and food. This option is very different than all inclusive option where all your meals and drinks are included during your stay. All inclusive vs Full Board Full board means that you can expect most meals to be provided during your stay but you won’t be able to order additional food- such as an extra appetizer or extra lobster with surf and turf. Some full board plans will charge extra for alcohol drinks and snacks which is what makes it different than all inclusive option. When selecting an all inclusive resort you are enjoying everything for your vacation and it is all included.
What is considered all-inclusive?
Carlie: With Sandals and Beaches Resorts the all inclusive perks are 5 star gourmet dining up to 16 restaurants at a resort. Breakfast, lunch, snacks and dinner- you can eat as much as you wish.. Foodies will love all you can eat vacation as you can order as many appetizers, add extra lobster or even order one of each desert on the menu because no hidden fees or extra cost it is all included. What type of restaurant options are available? You can try cuisines with Italian, Caribbean local favorites, French, Indian, Habitchi , Sushi and more.
What all is included in an all-inclusive honeymoon trip?
Carlie: If you haven’t tried an all inclusive resort yet it is a good place to start for your honeymoon. Once you check in your hotel you can place your wallet in the safe and literally not need your wallet again until you check-out as at an all inclusive everything is included watersports (including scuba diving) is all included, first class gourmet dining, airport transfers, as well as entertainment and unlimited alcohol and non-alcohol drinks.
What is not included in an all-inclusive honeymoon trip?
Carlie: Not included would be the spa services, romantic candlelight dinner, gift shop purchases, photos purchased from the photographers at the resort during your stay. Be sure to pack sun block, bug spray (mosquito if you are like me mosquitos love me) aloe- gift shop does sale these items if you don’t pack them for your travel. Excursions outside the resort cost extra. If you wish to scuba dive but don’t have your certification for diving you can take a dive program at the resort takes a few hours and then you are able to dive complimentary at the resort. Golf is included at select resorts but if you don’t bring your clubs you are able to rent them at the golf course. Every resort location is slightly different a few resort options offer beach / pool cabana beds that cost extra for the day-with this service you do receive a butler for drinks and food included.
Why should couples consider booking an all-inclusive honeymoon stay?
Carlie: If you want to go on vacation and think about nothing else but having the time of your life then an all inclusive resort might be perfect for the 2 of you. Even if the 2 of you don’t drink alcohol you get so much included at an all inclusive resorts. Escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday routine, no laundry, no cooking, no budget for your meals for the week or activities because it is all included during your vacation.
Is there anything else you’d like to share about all-inclusive honeymoons?
Carlie: One of the things that set Sandals apart in the all-inclusive area is the fact that the properties are adults-only, designed for couples. Sandals provides upscale adults only vacations because of this the resort is popular for honeymooners and couples looking to reignite their love.
