Unique Engagement Session at Marathon Village

Blending their hip style with an edgy vibe, we are loving Taylor and Marty’s unique engagement session at Marathon Village. Knowing the personality of the couple, photographer Rachel of Risen Vintage wanted a setting that reflected who they are and brought out the best of them. Needless to say, she nailed it by suggesting the historic building that is filled with antique touches and industrial details. With the mood being set and the natural light just right, the outcome is absolutely flawless. Keep scrolling to see for yourself!

From the photographer, Rachel: Taylor said that she wanted something unique for her and Marty’s engagement pictures. I knew I had to deliver a special location that suited their relationship and personalities. I suggested renting out Marathon Village’s event space. She absolutely loved the idea!

I set everything up with Marathon Village and we were so excited to use the space! When I arrived early to scope out the place my little photographer heart was so happy! The venue and event space is filled with beautiful natural light. The historic building has gorgeous details that made for great backdrops in the images.

We had a lot of fun together during their session! They brought their wardrobe stylist along with them and she assisted me in some of the images. Taylor and Marty expressed how perfect the atmosphere was. They also said that I made them feel comfortable and that the session was easy which is exactly what I strive for in my photography experience. All in all, this was a great engagement session that all of us thoroughly enjoyed in a wonderful Nashville venue.

How did you get engaged? Tell us about your proposal.

Taylor: Marty has never been to New York, so around Thanksgiving I started making plans to surprise him with a Christmas trip to NYC, even got my mom & step-dad in on the trip as well! Marty had mentioned once or twice that if he were to ever go, the only “tourist trap” he’d be into was a helicopter tour, so I booked one! The day of we made our way to the bay & after a few drops of “liquid courage” we were ready for flight! It was breathtaking to see ALLL of NYC that way & truly an experience I will never forget. After the tour & landing back at the heli-pad, they take you off one person at a time. I was the first one off, they set me up in the front of the helicopter so that we could take family pictures. But once I turned around, Marty was there on one knee & he asked me to be is forever! Of course I screamed YES! ..among other explicits :] but can you blame me? I had no idea it was coming!
