Teri: This styled shoot began in the minds of Teri from Mansion & Marsh and Laklin Brooke Photography. We were both itching to put in print the kind of work that we want to be creating, to show our passions and what we are about. Each of us had some amazing creatives that we really wanted onboard for this shoot. Laklin contacted the amazingly talented Taylor of Taylor Made Style to model. I reached out to two of Nashville’s premiere beauty experts, Trae Howard Hair and Andrea Perchinske Makeup. It was a magical collaboration! We had our crew and now we needed an epic backdrop for the images. We knew we wanted lots of light. Immediately, the Rippavilla Plantation‘s Sunroom in Springhill, TN came to mind. We called, they were in, and the rest is history.
All five of us are romantics so the vision clicked into place quickly. The Rue de Seine Avril wedding gown, worn by Taylor on her wedding day set the tone. Its’ lace cutouts, long sleeves and moderate train gave us tradition but still modern. At Mansion&Marsh we strive for a lush, romantic, abundant design and I think we achieved this with the throne of flowers made for Taylor. The floral necklace and shoes added whimsy and represented our love of the unusual.
Teri: We had complete faith in Andrea and Trae to push Taylor’s look in a modern direction. The clean perfection and staying power of Andrea’s makeup styling was professionalism at its best. As for the crown of glory that Trae Howard Hair created on Taylor, it was nothing short of a masterpiece. I provided orchids, roses and limonium for her to work with. Limonium is Trae’s favorite to use because it’s delicate and holds in the hair well. Being a wedding/event hairstylist only, has taught her what styles have lasting power. Her kit of tools and potions is fascinating!
So the stage was set, the props installed, and our subject was in character. As we all know, if there aren’t pictures, it didn’t happen. Laklin, the master of the lense, captured our muse in such elegant detail. Taylor was absolute confidence and poise as she took direction from Laklin but instinctively brought her expertise in high fashion and style to the table. Laklin was so meticulous to capture each contributor’s craft in the glowing light of Rippavilla sunroom’s warm light. We all felt suspended in time and would love to bring the synergy of this group to many more styled shoots, events and weddings. We have coined ourselves as the Romantic Quintet! We all feel so blessed to have found each other. We feel that we created something timeless and special. I personally, will always look back at the images and think, these really express who we are at Mansion & Marsh.
That dress. Her hair. Those floral designs. Wow, THIS styled shoot is bridal fashion and floral goals! Thanks so much to Mansion & Marsh for sharing this ultra femme romantic styled shoot with us!
