Not every groom (and bride, for that matter) gets to see more than one LOYL (love of your life) come down the aisle on your wedding day but for Kaitlynn and Nathan; that’s exactly what happened. That’s right! Kaitlynn and and Nathan both got to have their someone special come down the aisle as the flower girl, their daughter, accompanied by their dog! Not a dry eye was in sight at their wedding ceremony at 14TENN on their 2023 fall wedding! They had goregous fall florals in bloom along with the guy’s grey suits and mismatched green bridesmaid dresses. It was truly stunning! Nathan and Kaitlynn were set up by a mutual friend in May 2020. Their first date lasted 6 hours of nonstop chatting, and the rest is history! They moved from Chicago to Nashville in 2021 and life together has been nonstop with home buying, wedding, baby, and everything in between. Their wedding vision was simple chic…light, airy and modern boho with a blend of summer meets fall (since we were later Sept).
How did you meet?
Kaitlynn: We were set up by a mutual friend. Our first date lasted 6 hours of nonstop talking…a big sign we knew we found the one.
Tell us about your engagement!
Kaitlynn: Nathan surprised me with an evening at Cheekwood (botanical garden in Nashville), where he got down on 1 knee near the pond tucked away from the crowd. And, secretly he had a friend of mine that has a professional camera there snapping and capturing the moment!
Where did you get your dress/attire?
Kaitlynn: My dress was from White Magnolia in Franklin. I was 6 months postpartum on our special day, so I wanted something sexy, yet elegant. I chose Made With Love and had a removable skirt for the ceremony to lean into elegant and took that off for the reception for a sexier look.
What was the vision & theme for your wedding? What details were used to create this vision?
Kaitlynn: Simple chic. We wanted light and airy (14TENN is perfect for that) with a blend of summer meets fall in modern yet boho touches. To me, our florals told the story.
Where did you splurge? Where did you save?
Kaitlynn: Splurged on food. Saved on little details.
What is your best piece of advice for others planning their wedding?
Kaitlynn: People remember the food and party, they don’t remember the favors. Plus, try to soak it all in with your new partner because the day/night goes fast.
What was your first dance song?
Kaitlynn: Luke Combs, Forever After All.
Can you share your favorite memory or any special moments from the day?
Kaitlynn: We had both our 6 month daughter and our dog come down the aisle. There wasn’t a dry eye in the room (mine included!). Also, we did a first first dance with our daughter to Brett Young’s Lady and that’s a memory I’ll never forget.
Is there anything else you’d like to share?
Kaitlynn: We had one of our best friends officiant the wedding. It meant so much to us! It was personal, comical, and loving.
