Split Stay Honeymoons from 2 Travel Anywhere

Torn between 2 or more honeymoon locations? We get it – there are so many cool places you can travel to for your honeymoon! So if you and your fiancé are split between two destinations, the good news is that you can do a split stay honeymoon! What is a split stay honeymoon? Carlie from 2 Travel Anywhere is here to give us all the scoop on how you can split your honeymoon stay between multiple locations!

What is a split stay for a honeymoon?

Carlie: Unsure on one location? Why not stay two different locations. Stay a few nights in Jamaica and then fly over to St. Lucia! With COVID, the majority of people aren’t traveling to two different islands, but it is still a popular pick to split your time between different resorts. This is a really popular pick for Destination Weddings- say “I DO” at Beaches with family and friends and then honeymoon at a Sandals resort – an all adult/ couples only resort.

What are some great ideas for splitting your honeymoon stay?

Carlie: I would recommend spending a few nights Ocho Rios Jamaica. This area of Jamaica is known most for adventure and actives. You can go on nature hikes. Enjoy tropical birds, plants, rivers, caves, waterfalls, zip-lining, dolphin swim and more… If you like to golf, Sandals Ocho Rios and Sandals Royal Plantation resorts offer complimentary golf when staying at the resort. Then relax during your last few nights closer to the airport in Montego Bay at one of the Over Water Bungalows at the Sandals Royal Caribbean. Based upon your likes and interests, it will really help us plan the best split honeymoon options for the 2 of you. Do you like history, pools, beaches, food, adventure, relaxing, party vibe, relaxing what type of romantic getaway is best for you?

Would you recommend splitting your stay in 2 different honeymoon locations/islands/countries?

Carlie: Unsure between 2 resorts? Why not stay at both. Experience the honeymoon of your dreams by spending a few nights at one resort and then upgrade the last few nights to the bungalow or private pool suite.

Are there options to split up your honeymoon stay between locations on the same resort or destination?

Carlie: Typically I would recommend to island hop. Stay at one island and then hop over to another island but since the pandemic this is more difficult to island hop with all the protocols required to enter different countries. However it is still popular to stay at 2 different resorts, epically in Jamaica. Each location in Jamaica has something unique to offer.

What are some perks for splitting your honeymoon stay?

Carlie: No 2 locations are the same! It’s great to explore different areas as each location and each resort has something different to offer. Your honeymoon is a once in a lifetime trip and this will allow you to explore more than one location and enjoy a variety of different restaurants.

How many days would you recommend to stay in each location?

Carlie: The average length of a honeymoon is 7 nights, so when couples split the stay they plan adventure the first 4 nights and then relax the last 3 nights.

What are some fun upgraded honeymoon stays that couples can take advantage of for the first or second half of their honeymoon?

Carlie: The second half of the honeymoon, splurge on the Over- The- Water Bungalow where unlimited food and drinks are included. Access to the private offshore island with glass floor panels to view the undersea. A private outdoor Tranquility Soaking Tub and an over-water hammock for 2 to enjoy. Private patio outdoor to enjoy the 24 hour Elite Butler Service. You will be catered during your vacation.

Do you recommend the couple starting off with the upgraded room/location or ending their honeymoon with the upgrade?

Carlie: I always recommend to upgrade your room at the end of your stay vs. upgrading the beginning of your stay… that way towards the end of your trip you aren’t disappointed about your room not being as nice as it was… Plus it will be exciting to stay your last few nights in a once in a lifetime luxurious suite.

Is there anything else you can share about split stays?

Carlie: If you are interested in booking split stay Bungalow book in advance… Just a few of the bungalow suites are built so they book out far in advance. There is no doubt that the over the water bungalows really make a vacation memorable. The best news about the Sandals Resort bungalows – they are all-inclusive, only for couples and you don’t have to fly to the other side of the world to book them. Upgrade to butler service and the butlers will help pack and unpack your luggage for traveling between resorts. Butlers will even provide a snack and your favorite beverage for traveling between the resorts.
