What do you get when you mix two Tennessee natives, the beauty of the outdoors, and one adorable pup? This outdoor Franklin engagement session of course! Haylie and Ted grew up in the Franklin area, making Harlinsdale Farm and Downtown Franklin the perfect spot to snap cute photos of their love. Whether they were in the water or walking the streets of town, the two looked so in love as Ashton Brooke Photography worked her magic behind the lens. Enjoy these favorites from their session below!
How did you get engaged? Tell us about your proposal!
Haylie: We had a special dinner at Bourbon Steak (on top of the JW Marriott) after i finished my last fall final for law school. We got a cocktail after dinner to enjoy the view and while viewing the Nashville skyline, he popped the question! I said of course, and then we celebrated with our friends and family back in Brentwood! Before we left the restaurant though, the first person to congratulate us was Mike Vrabel, the titans head coach! My fiancé is a huge Tennessee sports guy, so that part was extremely special!
How many guests are you expecting?
Haylie: 250
What’s your approach to your wedding budget?
Haylie: $25,000. That’s our hard and fast mark, but we are aiming to stay under $20,000
Who have you hired for your wedding team so far?
Haylie: Florist, Photographer, Makeup, Hair, Videographer, Band/Ceremony, Musician, Wedding Dress, Wedding Planner, Bella Bridesmaids for Bridesmaid Dresses.
What’s your wedding style?
Haylie: Simple, sweet, and fun! Our ceremony will be infiltrated with Jesus and His grace, so we’re trying to focus on that!
What’s your most fun purchase/hire to date?
Haylie: We LOVEEE our photographer and wedding planner – both are amazing women who have become like best friends to me! Our band is also amazing!
What aspect of being engaged has surprised you the most?
Haylie: The difference of feeling being a fiancé instead of being a girlfriend! We call each other fiancé ALL the time!! We know this season is once in a lifetime and is flying by, so we’re just enjoying the engagement instead of just sitting and wishing the wedding would be here faster!
What have you most enjoyed about being engaged?
Haylie: Celebrating!! I love celebrating with the people I love most – so getting to see everyone from all walks of our lives has been amazing!
Tell us about your engagement session. Where did it take place?
Haylie: Harlinsdale Farms & Downtown Franklin It was a blast!!!! We love our photographer, Ashton, so that made it better of course! My fiancé is usually reserved in situations like that, but Ashton had him posing and modeling and acting so natural for the picture! We also got to bring our little black lab along for some pics!
What’s the significance of the location(s)?
Haylie: We both grew up in Williamson County, so Franklin is so special to us. We both remember spending lots of time walking the streets of downtown Franklin with our families!
What was it like working with your photographer?
Haylie: AMAZING!! She is a huge blessing to us!! I was a little intimidated at first, but definitely was easy to open up and have fun!
What did you like most about the session?
Haylie: Dancing to our first dance song 🙂
Would you recommend the photographer and why?
Haylie: 110% to everyone and I already have hahaha! She has the sweetest soul and biggest heart. She loves her clients and truly wants to capture them in their purest and most real form. She has not only been our photographer through all of this, but also a great friend!
Is there anything else you’d like to share with NBG readers?
Haylie: Truly we are so blessed in this season, but we can only give the credit to Jesus! The love we have for each other comes straight from Jesus! For other brides that are stressed about planning – take a deep breath and give it over to Jesus, I promise he will plan a wedding for you that is beyond what you have ever imagined!
