It rained a lot this spring, but you know what? Rainy day weddings are some of my favorites! The clear umbrellas, the rainy day kiss… maybe because I’m such a huge fan of Breakfast at Tiffany’s… But Kathryn + Matthew’s wedding is one that possesses all of those money shots for me! The ever so talented Zoe Life Photography captured their rainy day love – from their traditional Catholic cathedral ceremony to the modern vibe at The Reserve. Plus, their dog even posed for a photo or two – how can it get any cuter than that? Keep scrolling to see their fun-filled wedding day!

Matthew and Kathryn met at a bar in Nashville. His best friend (and best man at the wedding) hit on Kathryn first, while Matt stood awkwardly near by. Later on in the night, they ran back into each other. Matt gave Kat his number, and the rest is history.
They married at St. Mary’s Catholic Church downtown (the old cathedral) on a rainy April day. No bride wants it to rain her wedding day, but the couple made the best of it. After their wedding ceremony at the church, the wedding party and photographer headed over to the Bicentennial Mall, where we captured wedding party photos and bride and groom portraits under a light drizzle of rain. When the rain was too heavy, we stood under the bridge to take photos. Afterwards, the party bus took everyone back to Matt and Kat’s home in West Nashville, very close to their reception venue. The wedding party relaxed, listened to 90s music, and enjoyed whiskey shots at the house and hung out with the couple’s adorable and old doggie. We took portraits with their dog before we headed to the reception.
They had sparse decorations at the reception, but the guests danced the night away to fun toasts and great music.
