English Garden Inspired Wedding at Ozari

Never have we ever seen an English garden inspired wedding quite like Sidney and Thomas’ celebration! OZARI couldn’t have been more perfect of a setting for their soiree and was a terrific foundation for the details. What started as a challenging task turned into a stunning design thanks to the mother of the bride Teri, who is the owner of Mansion and Marsh. Teri was able to take Sidney’s love of gardening and turn it into the perfect wedding aesthetic. The space – indoors and out — was decked out with the most beautiful blooms, soft yet vibrant color, and vintage accents. The bride herself even designed the prettiest stationery which encapsulated the celebration beautifully. We had such a hard time narrowing down our favorite photos from Laklin Brooke Photography… it’s that good. Get ready to be obsessed y’all!

Tell us about the couple.

Teri (Mother of the Bride & Owner of Mansion & Marsh): Sidney and Thomas live in Nashville but are not Nashville Natives. Thomas was born and raised in upstate New York and Sidney was raised in a small town in Southern Central Tennessee. They met online and the rest is history! They have made a home in The Nations in Nashville with Tom’s Adorable son, Jake who is 8 and their handsome American Bulldog , Teddy. Sidney and Tom work in their beloved Nashville and are enjoying all of its growth!

Tell us about the couple’s vision.

Teri: Sidney had big ideas for the aesthetics of the day and both Tom and Sidney wanted the day to be above all FUN! They accomplished both……It helped that Sidney’s Mom works in the Nashville Wedding industry as a floral and event designer. Mansion and Marsh had never had such a challenge and they dove in head first! Sidney loves to garden and took inspiration from her favorite hobby and went for an English Garden theme with lots of color, blooms and vintage details. Sidney is a graphic designer and designed the most beautiful Invitation Suite. Sidney and Tom chose Southern favorites for their menu. Tom wanted all of his New York family and friends to taste the South’s delicious cuisine. Although Sidney loves all cuisines, she is a southern girl at heart!

What was their theme and what inspired it?

Teri: Their theme was English Garden . Sidney has loved to garden since childhood and she has a beautiful garden every summer. So the theme flowed naturally.

What details were used to create their theme?

Teri: So many vintage details! Sidney used white vintage napkins from her Mother, Grandmother and Great-Grandmother’s collections. Sidney’s Mom collected vintage china, multi-color stemware and brass candlesticks for 18 months. While Sidney loves old , found objects she also wanted color to be a big part of the design, with pink being first in line. She used a set of her Great Great Grandmother’s china on the bridal table. The pink V W van tap truck of Tap Truck Nashville was a huge hit! It truly drove home the pink/vintage theme. An antique settee in front of a balloon arch was the perfect backdrop for the Photo Booth. And of course, lots and lots of blooms…garden roses, wisteria, snapdragons, delphinium, ranunculus, hydrangea and lots of beautiful greenery. When the floral team of Sidney’s Mom’s company, Mansion and Marsh, started to run low on greenery for the reception, they ventured outside the venue and started cutting honeysuckle from the hillside and completed the garden, foraged look for the reception at Ozari which is a restored building with gorgeous exposed brick, beams and clapboard.

Can you share any special moments or highlights of their wedding day?

Teri: Teddy the Bulldog walking the aisle with his custom made floral collar. The strings trio, The Corwin Trio, playing Sidney and Tom’s song by Frank Ocean.

Did they have any special requests or unique challenges that you had to work together to overcome?

Teri: Special requests were, signature cocktails, Sidney’s was Blackberry Smash and Tom’s was Honey Peach Whiskey Tea. Because Tom is Italian, Sidney requested that we include the Italian Wedding Wish of 5 Jordan Almonds that symbolize Health, wealth , happiness, fertility and longevity. Her take on this tradition was 5 white Jordan almonds in a cone all wrapped up in gorgeous dotted Swiss , blue tulle, with of course, a beautiful custom designed tag explaining the age old Italian tradition. Sidney and Tom requested that The Blue Tones play incredible Dance music and boy did we dance the night away!

We give this one a 11/10! Huge thank you to mother of the bride Teri from Mansion and Marsh and to Sidney and Thomas for sharing their English garden inspired wedding with us!
