Providing us with a fresh spin on barn wedding decor, this group of Nashville wedding vendors came together to showcase how you can incorporate contemporary elements and bold, but elegant floral designs to your southern wedding. This modern spring styled shoot at Cedarmont Farm features rich jewel tones, a unique blend of textures, and other eye-catching details that pop! John Myers Photography got the perfect shots to showcase just how romantic this design looks no matter what the hour! See the beauty of it all below!
Tell us about the shoot vision.
Colleen: We can’t help, but love a renovated barn but we’re a little bored of the lace, burlap and natural tones that often decorate the South’s best barns so we decided to highlight our newly renovated barn with a moody spring inspired style shoot. It was everything we wanted it to be… moody, colorful, romantic and modern among a beautiful backdrop of Southern charm and familiarity. From the metallic plaster wall to the floor to ceiling windows our barn likes to kick it up a notch and get down right elegant. We used some of our favorite spring jewel tones and added in some beautiful velvet, crystal and satin textures to give this style shoot a flair of sophistication, depth and whimsical romance.
What details were used to create the theme ?
Colleen: We wanted to use some familiar spring colors: pinks, purples and blues but focus on the more saturated jewel tone versions instead of the typical pastel. We also wanted to mix and match some textures to create interest. We used gorgeous blue votives on the table and combined those with the more loose purple toned floral arrangements by Larson Floral Co. We paired it with a gorgeous mauve velvet runner, silk napkins and added another texture with the rough edges of the agate place cards. I loved the modern glassware we used and the harlequin chairs from Southern Events. Both added an element of elegance but also romance.
Can you share any special moments or highlights of the day?
Colleen: That cute little Italian bar car is adorable and everyone couldn’t stop gushing over it haha. I love the fact that it’s small enough to come inside if the weather was bad during an event.
This moody spring styled shoot is just what our creative hearts needed to see! If you want to turn some heads with your barn wedding decor, this will surely do just that. Thanks to Cedarmont Farm and John Myers Photography for sharing this awesome wedding inspiration with us!
