Combining their passions for the industry and many years of experience with building a community to learn and grow, meet the Nashville Wedding Planner’s Group. Together, these wedding planners aim to bounce ideas and knowledge off of one another through their membership meetings to ultimately make sure couples have their dream wedding day. Learn more about this group in the interview with the President, Megan, below!

Tell us about the Nashville Wedding Planner’s Group + how long you’ve been in business.

Megan: The Nashville Wedding Planner’s Group started in 2001 with the goal of joining local wedding planners together in community, focusing on collaboration over competition. We are a member-based organization and all of our members are all licensed and insured professionals who plan events that range from small, intimate weddings to state of the art corporate conferences.

How did you get started in weddings?

Megan: While our group has a very open membership policy, we are diligent in ensuring we only approve those who not only meet our requirements, but who are well respected in the community. Our planners are experienced – we have over 165 combined years of experience and produce over 200 weddings per year.

What’s the philosophy behind the Nashville Wedding Planner’s Group?

Megan: Our philosophy has and always will be, community and collaboration. Being a business owner is hard. Being a wedding planner is even more difficult. CNBC placed “event coordinator” as the 6th most stressful job in America. We care about our clients, we recognize that this is one of the most important days of their lives, we want it to be just as perfect as they have envisioned it to be, and yet something always goes wrong. Usually it’s small and we handle it quickly and efficiently. But we lean on each other, we bounce ideas off of each other, we support and encourage one another. Our community makes us better planners and having friends that understand everything you do, the long nights, the weekends working, it’s crucial and it helps us continue to love our work.

What are your strengths compared to others in your category?

Megan: Our members learn together, build relationships with vendors in the wedding community, tour new venues, and share ideas and information. The benefit of our collective is an added benefit for each of our brides. Navigating a wedding in Nashville can be overwhelming for a bride because of our seemingly endless vendor options, but that can also overwhelm a planner. For example, because there are so many venues, each individual planner could not possibly work at each one, but as a collective we just might. So when are brides need new options, we can turn to our fellow planners, give them the specs and source ideas from each other. Being a member is like having a team of 20 associates, when most of us have a full-time staff of 1-2 people.

Thanks so much to Megan for sharing all about these amazing wedding planners with us! If Nashville Wedding Planner’s Group doesn’t embody community over competition then we don’t know what does! We love that this group of ladies can rely on one another and in turn, help many Nashville Brides have the best. day. ever! Head to their website for more information and follow along on Instagram!
