Tell us about Music City Big Band + how long you’ve been in business.
Casey Brefka (band leader): Since its establishment in 2017, Music City Big Band has thrived as a versatile musical ensemble dedicated to the performance of jazz music for discerning audiences. Founded with the dual purpose of presenting captivating concerts and providing dynamic dance music experiences, our journey has been marked by numerous successful performances. Among our achievements, we take pride in our acclaimed concerts and our prowess in the realm of swing dancing. Notably, in 2018, we secured a coveted monthly residency at Woolworth on Fifth, drawing consistent crowds of 200-300 enthusiasts for our exhilarating swing dancing nights. Additionally, since 2019, we have been prominently featured at the Centennial Park Big Band dances in Nashville, where our performances routinely captivate audiences ranging from 500 to 1000 attendees.
How did you get started in weddings?
Casey Brefka (band leader): I started doing weddings because I enjoy the lively atmosphere of the reception, where everyone gathers to celebrate the couple and have a good time. It’s a chance to play upbeat music that gets everyone dancing and enjoying themselves.

Casey Brefka (band leader): Our guiding philosophy prioritizes both audience satisfaction and the elevation of musical artistry. We aim to captivate and impress our audiences while enabling our musicians to concentrate on their craft through the rendition of challenging yet engaging music that fosters movement and enjoyment among listeners.
