Tell us about Mint Springs Farm + how long you’ve been in business.
Bec & Kelly: Mint Springs Farm is an All Inclusive Full Service Wedding & Event Venue curating tailored event experiences. We’re located just 30 minutes outside of Nashville, Tennessee on a 40 acre property nestled in the rolling hillsides of beautiful Williamson County. Mint Spring Farm has recently changed ownership and is now in the hands of Bec Haskins and Kelly Cabrey. Bec and Kelly bring an impressive 25+ years of event experience to the farm. They are especially eager to share their expertise with those planning weddings and special events.
How did you get started in weddings?
Bec & Kelly: Bec was literally born into events. Her dad was working a holiday party when her mom went into labor. He was working an event at Vanderbilt University at the time and walked from the party to the hospital and her mom gave birth a few hours later. Bec was born and raised in Nashville, saw the skyline change and is here for the long haul. Her career in catering started after completing a certification in wedding planning. She worked professionally in events for 12 years at G Catering. Bec’s experience is endless, she’s managed over 3,000 events and a serving staff of over 150. Her events ranged from intimate house parties, to weddings, to music award shows, and galas and balls. Kelly’s passion for events started before she can even remember. Having grown up on Cape Cod, Kelly began her career at 18 working extravagant weddings and events. She worked with the top vendors and clientele in the New England area, including the Kennedy family. Kelly’s Bachelors Degree in Hospitality Event Management led her to dream big in the hospitality industry and she set her sights on producing events in other major cities. In 2015, she picked up and moved to Nashville where she began to work for G Catering. Over the last several years, Kelly has collaborated to produce countless weddings and events with industry leaders. Her client list includes the CMA Artist of the Year Awards, private dinners with country music artists and A-list actors. Kelly has completed over 350 weddings in Nashville alone. Kelly’s experience with G Catering ultimately led to her introduction to Mint Springs Farm.
What’s the philosophy behind Mint Springs Farm?
Bec & Kelly: We strive to create an unforgettable experience – not just an event or party. Mint Springs Farm is extremely vendor focused and creates a space for wedding professionals to shine and create a better experience for our clients. Coming from the industry as vendors, we want to champion and give them all the resources to succeed.
What are your strengths compared to other wedding venues?
Bec & Kelly: We bring a combined 25+ years of experience in other areas of the hospitality world. Coming from catering, we developed the experience and value that comes for serving guests at events. Food and beverage is the heartbeat of an event and an anchor of an experience. Most venue owners do not have the experience of working the actual event and getting into all the little details that create and event.
What attracts couples to your business?
Bec & Kelly: Our couples want a to a one-of-a-kind wedding with a completely custom look and feel. They want to show us their vision and have us take the riegns. They don’t want to have to think about finding the best vendor – because we’ve already that done for them. They want a venue that’s away from the city and more private with that Southern charm and luxury service.
What is the most innovative new product, service, style or other aspect of your industry that brides and grooms might appreciate?
Bec & Kelly: Branding is huge right now. We love all the custom paper goods and signs. Seeing all the trending items such as disco balls, baby’s breath and neutral colors are giving us life but reminding our couples that it’s YOUR day and do what is YOU not just what is trending.
Is there anything else you’d like to share about Mint Springs Farm?
Bec & Kelly: We aren’t just a wedding venue. Historically Mint Springs Farm has primarily been known as a wedding venue, however, we want to invite all kinds of celebrations and experiences to the farm. Our property is full of potential for whatever you can dream up. The perfect retreat for corporate gatherings to social celebrations.
