Meet Mason and Loretta

While Chelsea previously was sharing stories through books to the children she nannied, she took that love of storytelling and channeled it into her love of flowers. This nanny turned wedding and event floral designer, Chelsea, is here to share with us all about her love of creating sustainable yet colorful and organic floral designs for her clients! Chelsea tells us how she started from the ground up from breaking down weddings to creating this dream of hers! Learn more about Mason and Loretta Floral Design below:

Tell us about your company + how long you’ve been in business.

Chelsea: Mason and Loretta Floral Design is a wedding and events floral company serving the greater Nashville area and we have been in business since October of 2022. We are dedicated to bringing our client’s vision to life through the principles of storytelling and we are incredibly proud of our sustainability efforts, especially as a small, woman-owned business.

How did you get started in weddings?

Chelsea: At the beginning of the pandemic I was a burnt-out nanny desperate for a creative outlet. I like to say that flowers found me— the color theory, textures, principles of design, and innate joy really spoke to me. I began practicing my craft each week and looked for jobs at flower shops in the area. My first floral job included prepping and breaking down weddings and I have never looked back!

What’s the philosophy behind your company?

Chelsea: We believe that weddings are a story and the florals are woven into every part of it. Mason and Loretta uses flowers through the lens of storytelling to help portray your union and our focus lies completely with your vision and vibe. All of the elements of your flowers will reflect you as a couple and stand as a reminder of your special day for years to come.

What are your strengths compared to others in your category?

Chelsea: While flowers add value to any event, Mason and Loretta takes extra lengths to provide an exceptional value for our couples. We use sustainable practices, in season and local product, and reduced overhead expenses to lower overall costs while providing breathtaking, customized florals for our clients.

What attracts couples to your business?

Chelsea: Couples with a unique vision that want to support a small, growing business are drawn to us and our design style of organic shapes and earthy color palettes. Mason and Loretta’s couples are having smaller weddings with intentional design and personal touches. They’re excited about their special day and seek a fully customized experience.

What is the most innovative new product, service, style or other aspect of your industry that brides and grooms might appreciate?

Chelsea: Mason and Loretta is committed to sustainability in the floral industry. I started my company foam-free and pride myself on my growing knowledge of sustainable practices. A sustainability-minded company not only nourishes the earth that the florals hail from; it saves precious time and resources and leads to a unique, thoughtful product.

Is there anything else you’d like to share about your company?

Chelsea: Mason and Loretta’s designs are rooted in love and joy and we want nothing more than to share that with you and your loved ones!
