Tell us about InstaBurst Photos + how long you’ve been in business:
Heather: InstaBurst Photos is a women owned and (husband and wife) operated photo booth service based here in Nashville/Franklin, TN. We help our clients make their special events truly unforgettable by offering partygoers the chance to have their photo taken inside a vintage Shasta camper (Georgia), a retro VW bus (Jasper), or against one of our customizable open-air backdrops. We officially opened to the public in January of 2020, and worked our first (official) wedding in October of that year. Since then, we’ve been asked to attend special events including Pilgrimage Festival, Tennessee River Jam, and Harpeth Conservancy and we’ve loved every minute of it.
How did you get started in weddings?
Heather: When I first had the idea to start this company, I wanted our main focus to be weddings. While planning our own wedding in 2018, my husband, Adam, and I wanted a photo booth at our reception—but after a lot of research, it became clear that the services out there were either out of our price range or simply didn’t feel like “us.” That’s sort of how the idea started to take shape in my head—a photo booth service that was affordable and customizable, with a vintage feel and modern equipment. Because we launched in 2020, COVID put a damper on some of the “first rush” of weddings we had hoped we would see, but after we had our first couple in October, things really started to pick up. Now we’re working about 10 weddings per month!
What’s the philosophy behind InstaBurst Photos?
Heather: We think that every couple deserves the opportunity to offer their guests a one-of-a-kind experience—and they shouldn’t have to break the bank to do it.
What are your strengths compared to other photo booth companies?
Heather: We want each guest to leave with a physical copy of their photo in hand. They can display it somewhere in their home or office as an actual, tangible reminder of that experience. Aside from that, we’re a smaller operation, so our prices are competitive.
What attracts couples to your business (+ describe that couple!)?
Heather: Our couples love the fact that everything we do is customizable. They’re looking for an affordable option that is fun and entertaining for their guests, but that also captures the couple’s very specific vibe. We strive to make them feel as special as possible on their big day, with template designs that are just as unique as they are.
What is the most innovative new product, service, style or other aspect of your industry that brides and grooms might appreciate?
Heather: We are constantly working to ensure that our equipment, décor, and designs are up to date with current industry trends. Our most recent addition of the open-air booth has really allowed our clients to showcase their own creative flair with the personalized props we provide—which we love to see!
Is there anything else you’d like to share about your company?
Heather: Our motto is “This is our adventure; let us capture yours.” Opening this business has been one big adventure for me and my husband, and we’re so grateful for the people we’ve met along the way who’ve become part of it—and we can’t wait to meet more couples who are ready to start their next big adventure.
