A Journey from Friends to Soulmates

Quinton and Alexis have known each other since they were teenagers, thanks to Alexis’s close friendship with Quinton’s cousin. Their interactions were limited to casual greetings at family gatherings until they reconnected during the pandemic. A post by Quinton about the Black Lives Matter movement prompted Alexis to check on him, leading to a catch-up session that blossomed into their first date at Arrington Vineyards.

Interestingly, Alexis initially thought the date was just a friendly catch-up until Quinton asked, “What is your love language?” It was at that moment Alexis realized this was a date. Despite the initial confusion, the relationship took off, leading to a proposal that was nothing short of magical.

The Proposal: A Dream Come True

Quinton’s proposal was meticulously planned. During his birthday weekend, he took Alexis back to the winery where they had their first date. After an evening celebration, Alexis woke up the next day to a note from Quinton instructing her to pack for a three-night trip. The surprise continued when Quinton picked her up in a new outfit and drove to an unfamiliar house. Inside, Alexis found a trail of rose petals and candles leading to a rooftop overlooking downtown Nashville, where Quinton stood waiting to propose. A photographer and videographer were on hand to capture the beautiful moment.

Planning the Perfect Wedding

Following their engagement, Alexis and Quinton took six months to simply enjoy being engaged before diving into wedding planning. They debated between having a wedding or eloping, but ultimately decided on a wedding that reflected their personalities and values. This period of reflection helped them prioritize what mattered most and find vendors who aligned with their vision.

Choosing the Venue and Vendors

The couple visited around 20 venues before selecting the Tennessee State Museum, a hidden gem that offered the elegance and vibe they desired without the hefty price tag of more famous locations like the Country Music Hall of Fame. They meticulously vetted their vendors, often meeting them for coffee to ensure their personalities and expectations matched. This careful selection process allowed them to find lesser-known vendors who provided excellent service at more affordable rates.

A Timeless and Elegant Wedding

Alexis and Quinton’s wedding was marked by a modern and timeless black-and-white theme. Guests were asked to wear all black, a request that everyone graciously honored, contributing to the sophisticated aesthetic. The couple chose minimalistic and elegant decorations, with white linens and ghost chairs, allowing the guests themselves to become part of the decor. This thoughtful approach not only enhanced the visual appeal but also ensured that their wedding photos would remain timeless.

Reflecting Their Unique Love

The couple’s wedding planning and style choices mirrored their approach to life and love: thoughtful, intentional, and deeply personal. By enjoying their engagement period without the stress of immediate planning, and by selecting vendors and a venue that truly resonated with them, they crafted a wedding that was uniquely theirs. Their journey from childhood acquaintances to life partners is a testament to the power of reconnecting and building a relationship based on mutual respect and shared values.
