Tell us about your engagement!

Mallory: We met in undergrad at Ole Miss, so Oxford, MS, holds a very special place in our relationship. Ole Miss was playing Cal Berkley in football, so we went back for a big weekend with all of Connor’s family! The day of the proposal his mom suggested taking family photos for their Christmas card, and offered for me to hop in at the end for a few pics! We decided to go to William Faulkner’s house, Rowan Oak; when we got there, everyone suggested Connor and I take photos together first. I immediately got butterflies and knew it was finally happening! I turned around to take the pics and he got down on one knee— his sister caught the whole thing on video! Connor arranged for my family and friends to come up that weekend, so we went to dinner that night & the next day my mom & his mom set up a fabulous tailgate tent to celebrate!

What was the vision for your wedding?

Mallory: Romantic, elegant, classic & timeless. We used sage, blush, and ivory as a color scheme.

What was your theme and what inspired it?

Mallory: Definitely timeless & romantic.

Can you share any special moments or highlights from your wedding day?

Mallory: My favorite moments were having dinner just the two of us after the ceremony to soak in what just happened & then enjoying the dance floor with friends and family! I also really enjoyed taking pictures— we did a first look, and that was such a special time & I’m so glad Ashton captured it for us! I love looking back on that memory!

What are some tips you can share with other brides planning their weddings?

Mallory: Definitely get to know your photographer before the wedding day! We LOVED Ashton & had a great connection from the moment we met for engagement photos! She made us feel so much more at ease on the wedding day… not just with photos, but in general! No one will say this as advice, but feel the stress!! It’s part of planning your dream day, so soak it all in— even the stressful moments!

Is there anything else you’d like to share about your wedding?

Mallory: During COVID, planning can be stressful and hard. We found that we were able to still have our dream wedding surrounded by our most cherished family & friends! The vendors truly all made such a great impact on our day, and it was everything we ever dreamed of (even with an altered guest list)!

Congratulations Mallory & Connor! We’re honored we were able to show off your elegant wedding at Clementine. Special thanks to Ashton Brooke Photography for the wonderful images.
