Colorful Spring Wedding in Sewanee Inspired by Wes Anderson

Pressley and Apollo’s colorful spring wedding in Sewanee combines the whimsical charm of Wes Anderson films with the natural beauty of the Sewanee mountains. The location was where the couple first met and fell in love during their freshman year of college. In creating a unique and unforgettable wedding experience, Abbo’s Alley was the chosen spot to say I do. It contains the most picturesque outdoor backdrop nestled in the lush, green mountains of Sewanee with lush towering trees. Jewel tones were dominate in the color palette complete with vintage props reminiscent of Wes Anderson’s quirky style. With a beautiful atmosphere surrounding them, Pressley and Apollo hit the dance floor with their guests to tunes from the 70s and 80s in addition to partaking in a traditional plate smashing to pay homage to Apollo’s Greek heritage. Grey Kenna meticulously composed shots with vibrant colors and a touch of nostalgia. If you love a celebration filled with delightful features, you’re really going to enjoy this one!

Abbo’s Alley at Sewanee

From the photographer, Grey Kenna:

Pressley and Apollo got married on a warm spring morning in Sewanee, surrounded by their favorite people in the grass of Abbo’s Alley. Sewanee was where the two of them met during their freshman year of college, became friends, fell in love, and got engaged. Their day was inspired by this place that brought them together and the people who had been by their side all along – they wanted it to be intimate, lively, and full of joy.

After a sunny ceremony in the grass, Apollo carried Pressley up the aisle to the Fantastic Mr. Fox theme and the reception was a blur of group photos, champagne bottles, dancing to 70s and 80s hits, a traditional plate-smashing dance to pay homage to Apollo’s Greek heritage, and so much love. The entire day was bursting with jewel-toned colors, like a Wes Anderson film met an earthy spring mountain wedding. Their wedding was carefully planned to incorporate what was most important to them — not just their love for each other, but also for their people. and for the place that formed them.
