Oh for the love of COLOR! I was thrilled to see some of my amazingly talented NBG Vendors collaborate together on this styled shoot at Cedarmont Farm! The venue in Franklin, TN hosts a pool on the property, so the inspiration flowed for this Miami-esque poolside wedding shoot. Lindsey Brown Photography captured all of the details including the colorful cake, and even an emotional first look! See it all below!
Tell us about the shoot vision.
Colleen: There is so much neutral and greenery happening in event design right now that I wanted to break out of that mold and do something with some serious saturation and bold pops of color. I also love the idea of using fruit in florals so that got integrated into the whole theme.
What was the theme and what inspired it?
Colleen: The theme was Colorful Citrus. Partially inspired by Miami, partially inspired by our beautiful expansive pool.
What details were used to create the theme?
Colleen: Southern Events has some beautiful ghost chairs that went perfectly with my overall vision. Their gold chargers, flatware and china was the perfect pairing with the orange halves that we used as place setting centerpieces. The lime colored napkins offered an awesome pop of contrast. For the florals, I tried to integrate the Pantone color of the year- Living Coral because it might be my favorite color ever. I found some beautiful roses in that color and then added some other super saturated florals in similar warm colors: pinks, yellows, purples etc. That purple Celosia gave the centerpiece a bit of a marine-coral vibe without being too over the top beachy. I love the lemons in the centerpiece and felt they added some great color and texture contrast. The cake was so much fun to decorate. I used a palette knife to do some big strokes of color in similar colors to the florals and then added gold sugar for an accent. Katie Thornton also went with the theme giving the bride a bold lip and a fun high ponytail!
Can you share any special moments or highlights of the day?
Colleen: Our models are newly engaged and we did a first look that turned out really fun!
Were there any special requests or unique challenges that you had to work together to overcome?
Colleen: It was supposed to rain but our awesome vendors still planned on showing up and seeing what we could get. And thankfully, it stopped right before our shoot and we got some great photos!
Oh, I absolutely love it when NBG Vendors collaborate! And the result was phenomenal! Thank you to all of the vendors who participated in this fun and colorful shoot!
