With a love for the outdoors, Lindsey and Joel chose to have nature set the scene for their charming, rustic wedding at the Cedars of Lebanon State Park. Their day included a soft palette, a lot of DIY decor courtesy of the bride’s creativity, and their dog Bo playing a role in the wedding party. From their first look to the last dance, you can tell this was one fun day and thanks to Kailah James Photography, we’re able to share the best moments with you!

Kailah: If there’s one thing I learned in my time with Lindsey and Joel, it is that they know how to have a great time! I’ve photographed several weddings, and there’s by far was one of the most fun I’ve ever been to.
Lindsey and Joel have a classic love story – grew up in the same small town, went to the same school, fell in love, and became high school sweethearts. They shared a love for the outdoors, and a love for their canine companion, Bocephus! (He did not disappoint as “Best Dog.”)
Lindsey is such a creative (and a total planning boss!) so she carefully picked her vendors, and created the florals herself by going to Michael’s! I was blown away by her cute canoe-inspired photobooth, rustic cake table, and all her ceremony decor that gave me that glamping feel!
The first look was by far my favorite part of the day. The way Joel reacted seeing Lindsey as his bride for the first time – priceless. Joel pulled out his handkerchief to quickly hide his tears, but little did he know the whole bride tribe was up on the ridge watching it all unfold! What an amazing support system they both had for their special day.
Kailah: The ceremony followed and it was filled with even more laughter. Bo fell asleep as his owners said their vows, and Joel dramatically dipped his new wife for the kiss! The lodge filled with cheers as the newlyweds made their way back down the aisle (Bo in tow, of course!)
Kailah: Then the fun began: dominos pizza and beer and surprise dances galore! The new Mr. and Mrs. danced the night away. First as a sweet slow dance, then as a hoedown to “The Git Down” by Blanco Brown. The night ended with a huge conga line and dance circle – what a way to end the night!
If you don’t have this much fun on your wedding day, you’re doing it wrong! Congratulations Lindsey and Joel! And huge thanks to Kailah James Photography for sharing their charming, rustic wedding at the Cedars of Lebanon State Park with us!
