We love creative ceremony backdrops! What do you see that’s currently trending?

Amy: Trending right now are geometric shaped structures, such as triangles, diamonds, hexagons, and even pillars with flowers organically growing around it! We still love, and quite frequently work, with rings and arches, but it’s becoming more organically constructed and asymmetrical. Which, for us, really challenges our creativity with not only the floral aspect, but the construction of the entire piece itself.

What are some creative ways couples can add florals to their ceremony backdrops?

Amy: If a couple is looking for something simple, adding greenery and florals to the architectural backdrop is a beautiful and creative way to bring life to your ceremony spot! For example, if there is a brick wall, a staircase, a fireplace, or even an archway, adding florals to the existing architectural structure is unique and will definitely be a statement piece.

Do you have items that couples are able to rent for their ceremony backdrop? Or do you help create custom backdrops?

Amy: We have both! We have a few structures, such as a wooden hexagon, and arbor but we also love helping couples find their perfect backdrop. If they have a style or design they want, we will work with them to create the backdrop of their dreams.

What are some of your favorite trends and backdrops that you’ve seen?

Amy: It’s difficult to have a favorite design with backdrops since there are so many creative ones out there, but I would say the more organic and unique the better! As floral designers, we love a challenge and we love breaking boundaries. Suspended floral installations are one of our favorite trends because they are an unexpected and impactful addition to the ceremony setting. The look of a floral structure defying gravity itself will always be unique and fun and we are here for it.

How can a couple match their backdrop to their venue?

Amy: It is always helpful to peruse around the venue first in choosing where and what you want your backdrop to be. If you already have a ceremony backdrop in mind, floral design can play a huge part in tying together your dream backdrop and the venue.

Are there certain designs that work best either indoors our outdoors?

Amy: It all depends on the space. There are limitations with both, however, most areas have a lot of potential for creativity. Whether it be an indoor ceremony, or an outdoor ceremony, it’s our job to mold the design to fit any space!

Is there anything else you’d like to share about ceremony backdrops?

Amy: Ceremony backdrops are one of the key visual aspects of a wedding – it is the focal point that ties the ceremony together as you say “I do”… as designers, it’s one of our favorite moments.
