Tell us about the shoot vision!

Colleen: For this Cedarmont Farms wedding styled shoot, I really wanted to do something different and elegant with a rustic setting so I focused on more modern yet simple touches instead of the popular burlap and lace or copious amounts of greenery and garland that’s really popular right now. I loved the fun pattern salad plates from Southern Events so I layered them with their stoneware plates and added the copper flatware and gold eucalyptus branches for a metallic accent. For the centerpieces I chose to go minimal with florals but make it very botanical so displayed branches in the glass bottles and did mini floral arrangements inside of those glass globes which reminded me almost of their own little mini-greenhouses.

What details were used to create the theme?

Colleen: I loved the fun pattern salad plates from Southern Events so I layered them with their stoneware plates and added the copper flatware and gold eucalyptus branches for a metallic accent. For the centerpieces I chose to go minimal with florals but make it very botanical so displayed branches in the glass bottles and did mini floral arrangements inside of those glass globes which reminded me almost of their own little mini-greenhouses. For the bouquet, I kept it small and simple but elegant choosing mostly neutral colored florals (dahlias, ranunculus, roses) with some dark touches and lots of eucalyptus spilling out. I added a sprig of lavender to the boutonniere  so it smelled amazing. The cake also kept this botanical theme going so it was a simple semi-naked cake and then I layered on the florals.

Can you share any special moments or highlights of the day?

Colleen: I loved working with these vendors! They were all so professional but so nice. John of John Myers Photography was great at making the couple feel really comfortable and kept them laughing and Hunter of Morgan Film Co. brought his drone out to shoot some aerial footage of our venue as well. Sarah of The615Bride had a variety of options for dresses so it was really fun for Megan to create a look she felt comfortable and beautiful in. Altogether the shoot was relaxed and lots of fun!

Were there any special requests or unique challenges that you had to work together to overcome?

Colleen: It was unseasonably hot that day and we had set the cake up early to get all the florals on it then left it out on the table. When it came time to shoot it we realized the middle part was starting to slide as it melted so it was very crooked. John did his best to shoot it at an angle that doesn’t show but yes we definitely had a cake malfunction. Wasn’t the end of the world and it still tasted great!

I am so in love with this Cedarmont Farms wedding shoot! Thanks to all of the amazing Nashville Bride Guide vendors who worked so hard to create this stunning barn wedding inspiration!
