I love a couple that chooses to showcase both their fancy and casual side during their engagement session! Thus was the case with Anna + Jordan who chose to have their photographer Mandy Liz Photography shoot a more casual look in Downtown Franklin and a fancy look at War Memorial and the state capitol. Their fun loving side was captured in both looks! Hear straight from Mandy Liz and also Anna about the day and the couple's story!

From the photographer, Mandy Liz: Anna and Jordan traveled from Louisville Kentucky to Nashville for their Downtown Franklin and Nashville engagement session. Anna and Jordan had a casual and relaxed vibe in Downtown Franklin, and we mostly used brick walls and main street as a backdrop. After we wrapped up in Franklin, we headed to Downtown Nashville to get some classy engagement pictures at War Memorial Auditorium. Anna switched from boots and jeans into heels and a gorgeous navy dress, and her outfit perfectly fit the setting! I love how silly and sweet Anna and Jordan are, and I think the pictures at the War Memorial show that side of them! We finished off at the plaza as the sun was setting with the Nashville Capitol building in the background- PERFECT BACKDROP FOR A KISS!
Tell us about your proposal!
Anna: I came home from work one Friday in November and when I opened the door I found a trail of balloons with pictures of us throughout our relationship weighting them down. All of the lights had been strategically placed to coordinate with the balloons to guide me back to our bedroom. He had a candles lit and he was playing “Perfect” by Ed Sheeran. I tried to take in every second of what was happening but I couldn’t wrap my head around the fact that this was real. He was waiting for me in the bedroom and when I rounded the corner to see him I froze. We just looked at each other for a few seconds before he started to speak. He got down one one knee and proposed in a manner that was so perfect for the two of us and I couldn’t have been more surprised!
Tell us about the engagement shoot and your location/outfit choices!
Anna: We we’re blessed to find Mandy through social media marketing. She recommended choosing locations where we spent a lot of time so Historic Downtown Franklin was a must. For our second location we wanted something that would feel for elegant, she recommended War Memorial and sent pictures of previous shoots there, we liked them and agreed! We decided to do something for casual for our Franklin pictures so we picked outfits that felt true to us and that reflected out styles best. For our War Memorial portion, we just tried to coordinate colors and picked outfits that would be timeless and classy.
Thanks so much to Mandy Liz Photography and Anna for sharing the story of the engagement session! You can check out more of Mandy Liz’s work here and also follow along on Instagram!
