Although Alex + Kristjan proclaim that their friendship and first date was awkward, the couple’s wedding at The Reserve was anything but awkward! The room was filled with the couple’s fun-loving spirit and guests even shed a tear or two during their touching ceremony. The photos by Abigail Lewis capture all of the fun and emotion from the day including Kristjan’s epic hair tosses and crowd surfing skills! From the photographer, Abi: Alex and Kristjan’s wedding was one of those everyone dreams about. Located at the modern, new venue, The Reserve at Fat Bottom Brewery, the day that was supposed to be an all-out stormy, cloudy day turned into a bright, warm spring day. As we prepared in the earlier part of the day, everyone enjoyed playing corn hole outside and sitting outside in the sun talking with friends and family. The ceremony, one of those tear-jerking short and sweet ceremonies, was the highlight of the day. The first time Kristjan saw Alex walking down the aisle, he started crying, followed by just about everyone else. The most endearing vows were shared, and after running back down the aisle as married people, Alex and Kristjan embraced for the sweetest ‘just married’ moment I’ve seen. Tears, laughter, hugs, and the best celebrations followed the ceremony long into the night. From the lively dance parties, to the most competitive bouquet and garter toss I’ve seen, to the sweetest sparkler exit, this wedding, with images to reminisce on, will be engrained in my mind for years to come.
Bride, Alex on how they met & their first date: Kristjan and I met freshman year at young life camp doing work crew on a weekend at sharp top, and we had a really awkward friendship that led to an awkward first date where we both knew we wanted to marry one another!
So right when we first started dating I was visiting him in Nashville over the summer after freshman year of college and he told me he had a surprise date for us one night. Didn’t tell me anything, but had me help him pack up some pillows and blankets in the back of my car. He had all kinds of snacks and drinks so I thought maybe we would go on a picnic. We drove for about an hour and came up to the cutest drive in theatre, which is something he knows I love so much, and it was the best surprise ever!! And we turned the back of my Subaru into our own little theatre and it was so amazing. It was so simple and we were both in sweats, but it was the absolute best night!
