Tell us about Pinewood Retreat + how long you’ve been in business.
Sarah: Pinewood Retreat opened in the fall of 2019. Sarah of Sarah Lizabeth has been in an out of almost every venue in Nashville through the years. She’s heard the frustrations from clients. She has seen what works and doesn’t work in the wedding venue industry. It has always been a dream of her to own a special place where she could serve others and provide an event venue experience like none other. After years of searching for the perfect place, she got lost one day and happened upon what is now Pinewood Retreat. As soon as she stepped foot onto the property, she knew it was special and would become others special place to start their life together.
How did you get started in weddings?
Sarah: I started Sarah Lizabeth, an event planning and floral design studio two decades ago. Through my work in the wedding industry, Pinewood Retreat was created.
What’s the philosophy behind Pinewood Retreat?
Sarah: Pinewood Retreat is our home. It’s where we raise our kids, we were engaged and married here. It is our special place that we created to be others special place. Pinewood Retreat is a secluded private country estate that has a special feel when you are on the property. We designed it where the client and guests can explore the whole property. Our philosophy is simple…simplify the event planning process and serve the client well. We are a family and care about our clients dreams for their big day.
What are your strengths compared to others in your category?
Sarah: At Pinewood Retreat, you don’t just have one space that you have to stay in. We have a magnolia garden and other picture perfect spots on the property for a ceremony. The entire property was renovated including a beautiful bridal suite and guest cottage. We have a pool, pavillion and bar most often used for cocktail hour which is next to a fire-pit where we set up yard games such as corn hole if the client would like that. Our larger receptions are held under the clear top tent facing some of the most beautiful sunsets in Williamson County. For the Groom and optional cocktail hour, we have a vintage 50’s diner and arcade with skee-ball, air hockey, darts, foosball, ping pong and other vintage games. This is a fun space for the Groom to hang out or entertain your guests during cocktail hour. We also have a driving range on the property which is fun for the golf lovers who want to practice their short game. On the back of the property, we have a beautiful creek and open field which is perfect for those sunset photos we all love seeing online!

Sarah: Couples are attracted to Pinewood Retreat if they are looking for a unique, quite, stress-free venue for their wedding day. We are conveniently located to Hwy 96 and I-840 so it makes it easy for those who are traveling into Nashville for the wedding. One main benefit to working with Pinewood Retreat is that we have everything a client would need for their wedding including but not limited to: Planning, Flowers, Decor, Photo, Video, Catering, Bar + Bartending, Alcohol, Rentals, Entertainment, Transportation and so much more. We also allow outside vendors on the property if the client would like to bring everything in.
What is the most innovative new product, service, style or other aspect of your industry that brides and grooms might appreciate?
Sarah: Pinewood Retreat offers an all-inclusive planning option that is 100% customizable, client focused and isn’t a typical wedding where what we have is what you get. You don’t just get a “Pinewood Retreat” wedding. You get YOUR wedding! In each vendor field, we have options. You don’t just get the standard floral arrangement, you get the one that you want. We sit down and have four essential planning meetings to discuss your dreams to include: Vendor selections, Schedule of Events, Flowers and Decor and Final Details. This isn’t our wedding, this is the clients wedding.

Sarah: Pinewood Retreat is a special place created to be your special place. Yes, this has been a dream of ours for a very long time but they client has always been the main character in that dream. We have thought about each detail of your day to give you an experience that is unique and special than others in the industry.
