Retro Whimsical Wedding at Cranford Hollow

Retro Whimsical Wedding at Cranford Hollow

Hannah and Tony’s love story culminated in a retro whimsical wedding at Cranford Hollow. While their journey to the altar faced challenges—including a last-minute venue change due to a tornado—the couple’s resilience and creativity turned their wedding day into an unforgettable experience. Disco balls, lush florals, and candles adorned the venue, while an ice luge added a playful touch to the reception. Guests enjoyed delicious tacos and pizza from food trucks, adding to the casual yet festive atmosphere. Their celebration, beautifully captured by Danielle Piazza is proof that even when plans change, love conquers all.

How did you meet?

Hannah: We met through my roommate who previously lived with Tony and grew up with him!

Tell us about your engagement!

Hannah: We were on a family vacation back at my (bride) home in Rhode Island. I planned all the things we were doing so I had no clue it was coming. We went to a beautiful hotel called the Ocean Cliff Hotel that overlooks the water in Newport. We were taking pictures when Tony said, “How about our next picture is as fiancés? I blacked out so thank God we got it on camera!

What was the vision & theme for your wedding? What details were used to create this vision?

Hannah: We went to 9 weddings in 2023 so we knew what we wanted and didn’t want at our wedding. We definitely did not want something to uptight and fancy. We both envisioned something that was retro, floral, whimsical, and relaxed. I made a lot of things such as a family history card instead of a program that had pictures and said how everyone before us met. I also made the drink menu, signs and other paper details. We had napkins and drink toppers that were custom. Disco balls, different colored water goblets, flowers and candles were everywhere. Having people grab retro sunglasses on the way to the ceremony gave a relaxed vibe.We really wanted the weekend to be a big party. We had a custom ice luge where guests took shots from. Having food trucks gave guests a chance to mingle and eat some feel-good food. The saxophone player interacted with guests and totally elevated the DJ set. Picking out my own music was key to making it feel like a party! My aunt is pushing 80 and she was dancing all night!

Where did you splurge? Where did you save?

Hannah: We splurged on the venue, flowers, and musicians! We always wanted food trucks it just so happens that it saved us a lot of money! Open vendor policy was huge for us when looking for a venue.

What is your best piece of advice for others planning their wedding?

Hannah: Make sure you don’t lose sight on the fact that it’s about you two and no one else. Don’t people please. Make sure you really do what you want!!

What was your first dance song?

Hannah: Sweet Symphony by Joy Oladokun ft. Chris Stapleton

Can you share your favorite memory or any special moments from the day?

Hannah: My friend did yoga with the girls and I the morning of the wedding. It was so magical and was the best way to start the day. During the ceremony was an awesome memory. I was physically jumping for joy because I was so happy and excited! (There’s pictures and videos of it) Everyone was laughing! One more moment was at the end of the night we danced to “Tennessee Whiskey.” Everyone circled around us with their arms around each other. We looked around at all the people who loved us. It was so special.

Is there anything else you’d like to share?

Hannah: The day was even better than I imagined even when things went wrong!

Best. day. ever! Huge thank you to Hannah and Tony for sharing their retro whimsical wedding at Cranford Hollow with us!
