Oh what a night! Renee and Zachary had such a beautiful luxurious Nashville barn wedding at Allenbrooke Farms this past May. And let me tell you – every last detail was thought through to perfection! From the vintage family photo display to the bride’s glam tiara, their mix of old and new was picture perfect along the Tennessee landscape. Nashville wedding photographer Abigail Volkmann was there to capture the day in all it’s meaningful entirety. Take a look at her shots below along with an interview with bride, Renee!

Tell us about your engagement!
Renee: Our engagement was one from a fairytale. The night before he proposed, Zachary (secretly) scheduled a nail appointment for me & my aunt then he sent us out to dinner and shopping for a special outfit. That night, he had my aunt give me a card from him that turned out to be the start of a scavenger hunt. The next morning, his scavenger hunt led me to the place where our relationship started over two years prior to that day, Arrington Vineyards. Once there, Zachary met me at the main tasting room with a bottle of wine and walked me down to the place where he had set up a picnic. Zach had a secret photographer there to capture the moment and we spent the rest of the afternoon sipping wine and enjoying the beautiful scenery with one another.
What was the vision for your wedding?
Renee: More than anything, I wanted our wedding to reflect our personalities and our love for one another. We both give 110% in everything we do, and our wedding was no exception. I wanted a romantic and glamorous wedding. Although we hosted our wedding at a barn, it was anything BUT your typical “barn” wedding. There were no boots, no burlap, and no mason jars allowed at this one!
Can you share any special moments or highlights from your wedding day?
Renee: There were so many special moments on our wedding day. My (Sigma Kappa) sorority sisters surprised us with a candle pass during the reception that obviously no one else understood but it was so special to me to get to share that moment with them and my new husband! It was definitely a fun moment that I will never forget!
What are some tips you can share with other couples planning their weddings?
Renee: Make a list of the things that are most important to you to have (venue, photography, videography, etc.), and focus on finding the vendors that fit your style and budget the best. Ask lots and lots of questions, and ask for help when you need it! Don’t be afraid to delegate some things to other people as well. Planning a wedding can be very overwhelming, don’t let it get the best of you. I planned a stay-cation for Zach & I the weekend before our wedding so that he & I could spend time together and relax a little before our wedding week.
Is there anything else you’d like to share about your wedding?
Renee: It was just the most perfect day. I can’t even begin to explain how amazing it felt to see all of our wedding dreams come true. All of the hard work and planning were worth every second. Every detail was thought of and executed with intention, but marrying my best friend was by far the highlight of such a perfect day.
