San Antonio’s dynamic singer-songwriter darling, Angel Cintron, and her fiancé, Peter Guarno, recently sat down for a candid conversation about their lives, careers, and surprisingly serendipitous path to engagement. After an initial, slightly awkward FaceTime introduction (“I did not look cute at all and he was hot and I was like dang it!”), they finally met in person at the beach.

The spark was undeniable, but their first one-on-one hangout was hilariously awkward. Peter, trying to be subtle, invited himself on a hike with Angel. The ensuing silence and eye-contact between Angel and Kiana left Peter hanging! However, the next day, Angel showed up for the hike.

Peter sealed the deal by asking Angel to enter into courtship—a term he defines as “dating to marry”—just after she returned from Texas in January.

Peter set the bar incredibly high for their first official date. Knowing Angel’s love for Coldplay (a band featured prominently in a playlist they made together), he took her to an Italian Michelin-star restaurant. The night culminated in a trip to a church in Koreatown where a candlelit quartet played Coldplay covers.

Angel, a violinist herself, was moved to tears. “It was like the most magical first date I’ve ever been on in my entire existence,” she shares.

After eight months of dating, the couple faced a major test: Peter’s deployment. He was scheduled to move to Alaska and then eventually to Florida for a shore job until 2027. Before making the cross-country move, Peter knew he had to propose.

He cleverly planned a photo shoot at the very spot they had their first one-on-one hike. Knowing girls like to have their nails done, he dropped subtle hints—even finding some press-ons the day before!

The proposal itself was a triumph of planning and genuine surprise. With friends secretly filming and a favorite song, “Love Note,” playing, Peter got down on one knee.

Angel was completely in shock, despite the photo shoot setting. Peter revealed that he took notes from Angel’s public Pinterest board to pick out her dream ring, making the surprise absolute and perfect.

The happy couple is set to marry on March 1st in Texas. They chose a ranch estate venue with a huge balcony overlooking hill country and a pond, perfect for their simple, elegant vision.

The quick engagement was intentional; they prayed for a perfect date, and when a stunning venue had a single opening, they knew it was theirs. Angel recommends that future engaged couples prioritize climate, location, and budget as the first steps in planning.

She has been expertly managing the planning process, securing their venue, choosing the color palette (dusty rose, champagne, and navy blue), and even landing an exciting partnership with Birdie Grey to clothe the entire bridal party. Angel found her dress the very first day she looked, instantly knowing the exact silhouette and material she wanted.

After the wedding, Angel will be moving to Florida, where Peter is stationed until 2027. Despite the uncertainties of military life, Angel is prepared for the adventure.

While embracing her new life, Angel will be making frequent trips back to LA to finalize her new music project. She’s coming back in February not only for her bachelorette party but also to shoot a music video!

This next album is a stark contrast to her previous work, which was centered around escaping a toxic situation. Angel describes this new era as healthy love—a reflection of her faith and her relationship with Peter.

Musically, she describes it as Pop with an R&B sprinkle and 80s sounds, drawing inspiration from artists like Prince, Frank Ocean, and Mariah Carey.
