Micaela + Gordon

Clementine Hall

7.16.2022

Guests ~ 125

From the photographer, Kéra: This wedding at The Clementine in Nashville, TN. is classic, traditional and charming, with the historical gathering Hall showing off its ornate and rejuvenated details.

This well-styled wedding is sure to inspire brides and grooms alike with the way the classic white and green flowers and soft details vividly pop amongst the 1800’s brick and arched windows.

Industry talent from Nashville came together to make magic. The bride is wearing a simple, sleeveless wedding gown with a lace veil detailed with pearls. The soft array of white blooms sprinkled with greenery by Fresh Weddings by CarryAnn and modern rentals by Please be Seated set the stage for a night to be remembered while the groom’s classic black tux and bow tie elevated the energy for a luxe feel.

Tell us about your engagement!

Micaela: We met back in 2017 on a flight from Chicago to Nashville while we were traveling for work. We never exchanged information, just names, and at some point we lost track of each other. In 2020, I was at a grocery store in Chicago when this handsome man approached and said, “sorry to interrupt, but aren’t you the girl from that flight to Nashville a few years ago? I swore if I ever saw you again I wouldn’t let you out of my sight before getting your number.” Sparks flew, and we started dating shortly after. Our engagement was short, because we could clearly see the writing was in the stars that we were meant to be together! Planning a wedding in 5 months seemed crazy, but we wanted to stick to the vision of keeping it relatively intimate, with our story at the forefront, and the rest was just supporting details.

What was the vision for your wedding?

Micaela: We wanted a simple and clean look for the wedding so the focus could be on our story and the union we were making before God, family, and friends. We also chose a stunning venue with a lot of character, so we didn’t want to distract from the beautiful ‘bones’ of the space. And finally, we wanted a killer dance party where everyone felt comfortable getting out for a dance or two, so choosing the right DJ was critical in bringing that to life.

Can you share any special moments or highlights from your wedding day?

Micaela: One highlight was the ‘first look’ with my dad; we had a special moment in the courtyard where I got to read him a letter and give him a little gift. That was so special, and knew he needed a little TLC before giving away his daughter. No matter how good your partner is, weddings are hard for Dads! Gordon and I decided not to do a first look – this was something he felt passionate about when it came to planning the day, so we decided to see each other for the first time walking down the aisle. The doors opened, and seeing him up there looking SO handsome immediately brought tears to my eyes. He was crying, I was crying, we were all crying! Such a special moment to reflect on. We heard from so many guests about how good our dance floor was – we had a dreamy time dancing with everyone, hearing a few throwback songs, and bringing out some LED cowboy hats to keep the party going until late into the night. Those memories and pictures are some of my favorite from the night.

What are some tips you can share with other brides planning their weddings?

Micaela: Think of 3 things you want to stand out to your guests, and structure your budget and day-of schedule to cater to those things. For us, we prioritized the dance floor, photo booth, and food. Dance floor props were an obvious area we wanted to enhance with our budget, and we also personalized a late night snack to something we enjoyed, but wasn’t super expensive (people aren’t hungry after such a good meal!) We had Oreos and milk as a late night option, and some of my favorite memories of the night were our guests dancing with a few Oreos in hand. Our photo booth was one of the main attractions – CarryAnn had a stunning floral arrangement combined with an LED sign to draw folks into an area for polaroids they could take home. So sweet to see folks lined up to take pics on something we spent time and energy creating!

This looks like the best.day.ever!! Congrats to these two love birds! Special thanks to Kéra Photography for sharing Micaela and Gordon’s timeless and charming Clementine Hall wedding!
