Intimate Long Hollow Gardens Wedding

All it took was one date, and Paul and Caroline were in awe of one another. Fast forward to November and the two were committing forever to one another at their intimate Long Hollow Gardens wedding. With only a 6 month timeframe to plan their wedding, they kept things simple, but make no mistake that there was SO much beauty to be had throughout the day. How did you meet?

Paul & Caroline: We met on a dating app in Birmingham, AL, where Paul was in school and Caroline was working. After the first date, we were smitten!

What is your proposal story?

Paul & Caroline: Paul was completing an internship in Alaska. Caroline came for a visit, and Paul proposed at sunset in the snowy mountains! It was an absolutely emphatic YES!

Tell us a little bit about your wedding.

Paul & Caroline: Our vision was to keep the wedding simple, as our planning timeline was about 6 months, which is very fast in today’s wedding world. We wanted simple flowers and color palettes so that the fall colors of the Nashville countryside would stand out. We wanted to enjoy as much nature as possible, both inside and outside. Our venue, Long Hollow Gardens, allowed us that and so much more!

Tell us about your attire choices.

Paul & Caroline: Paul chose to wear his United States Air Force formal attire (mess dress), which was perfect for the Veterans Day weekend. Caroline wore a Samantha Sleeper wedding dress from Ila Bridal. With such a short timeline for planning, it was essential to buy an off the rack dress, and Ila offers an elegant selection of high-quality dresses from unique designers.

What was most important to the two of you while planning? Was there anything that you chose to splurge on or skip?

Paul & Caroline: We passed on having bridesmaids and groomsmen because our loved ones live far and wide — we wanted to keep the day simple and allow each person to enjoy themselves. Paul’s father served as best man and Caroline’s sister Annabel served as maid of honor.

What were your favorite parts of the day?

Paul & Caroline: Although we considered doing a first look to take advantage of the daylight for couples pictures, we chose to see each other for the first time during the ceremony, the traditional way. The excitement and emotion was worth it, and there was plenty of beautiful “golden hour” light after the ceremony to take incredible photos.

You know what they say, there’s so much beauty in simplicity and after scrolling through these photos by Katie & Alec Photography we could not agree more! Thank you Caroline and Paul for sharing your perfect Long Hollow Gardens wedding with us!
