From the photographer, Sarah: Shea & Brandon got married in Saturday, October 23rd at Cascata Springs in Lewisburg, Tennessee, just south of Nashville! They forewent the traditional bridal party and opted in to share more intimate moments with one another, as well as just sitting back and ENJOYING their day with their loved ones! This intimate wedding was a blast, and the dance floor was popping from the I Do’s through the fireworks at the end of the night!
Tell us about the couple.
Sarah: These two are the Webster dictionary definition of fun-loving couple. Their energetic connection is felt by anyone around them – they not only love each other fiercely, but their friends and family as well. It was so evident by the HUGE outpouring of love and happiness that their crowd was thrilled at their marriage, and happy to celebrate with them. I first met them at their engagement session, and I was not ready for how outgoing, funny, and kind these two were. They are just them – they’re unapologetically themselves, which is so refreshing!
Tell us about the couple’s vision.
Sarah: Shea wanted a stress-free day, first and foremost. They had a very modern approach to a fall wedding. Pastels and ivories mixed with moody, colorful rugs against the changing greens and reds of fall made for a unique, stunning ceremony and reception vision.
What was their theme and what inspired it?
Sarah: They got married at the Italian inspired venue nestled in Lewisburg, Cascata Springs – which I think inspired a lot of the rest of the wedding. Shea wore a stunning modern gown from the Alyssa Kristin line (the Lexi gown), had statement pieces for jewelry, and a no-frills approach to her decor, which she mostly utilized from the venue. The emphasis of the day was placed on the couple, with no bridal party (although each had friends to get ready with them!).
What details were used to create their theme (color scheme, decor items, florals etc.)?
Sarah: They kept it true to Nash, and enjoyed local brews from some of their favorite Nashville local breweries, such as Lovebird from Jackalope Brewing Co! They utilized colorful rugs and macrame on their ceremony arch for a nod to the fall, as well as white pumpkins in the reception decor, while keeping the rest of the decor pretty year round and fun.
Can you share any special moments or highlights of their wedding day?
Sarah: Shea forgot her bouquet – she will tell this story better than I, but it was hilarious. She quietly asked me how to hold her hands with a giggle before making her way down the aisle. As Brandon’s grandfather was the officiant, he had quite the time picking on her lovingly about her silly oops. It was a big laugh when the bouquet was brought to her at the end of the ceremony, and you’ll see her in the gallery holding it happily and modeling it! Like I mentioned before, the emphasis of the day was on the couple, so we had several minutes for couples portraits after the family photos, before a WILDLY fun reception, where the dancing never slowed once. The night was wrapped up with a stunning firework display, and cheers from family and friends as they enjoyed the show with the newlyweds.
