On a beautiful September day, this Ravenswood Mansion styled shoot with stunning florals came to be. The inspiration? It was actually inspired by a real wedding! After Tess and Blake’s outdoor wedding in July got moved indoors at the last second do to unforeseen weather, they were unable to get married under their floral arch, let alone get photos with it. That’s when Ashton Brooke Photography and Echoes of Eden Florals put their minds together to create this stunning editorial where they could recreate the pink and white flower designs and have Tess and Blake mimic the sweet moments from their day. As if we couldn’t love the details enough, this story line was enough to make our hearts burst! The beauty of it all awaits your eyes below!
Tell us about the shoot vision.
Ashton: The shoot vision was inspired by Tess and Blake’s wedding day!
What was the theme and what inspired it?
Kelly: On July 25, 2020- 45 minutes before Tess and Blake’s ceremony was suppose to start, a thunderstorm that was NOT on the weather app, came through Brentwood, making us have to change their ceremony location last minute. I had already spent two hours on an arch that could not be transported to the new ceremony site. Also, I had already left the venue by this time, but came back to salvage what I could. I took the florals from the arch and used them on the ground to provide a new ceremony backdrop on the porch at Ravenswood Mansion. The salvaged arrangement was by NO means perfect but I was so happy I was able to have something to make their ceremony special under some crazy circumstances! Since Tess and Blake did not get to get married under their original arch, I was able to “redo” their arch on a sunny day in September and they got photos in front of it after all! My friend, Ashton with Ashton Brooke Photography, was able to team up with me on that day to provide some beautiful photos for my sweet couple. This styled shoot was not planned but turned out amazing. I am so thankful we got to recreate some special moments for Tess + Blake in front of their original arch.
What details were used to create the theme?
Ashton: Tess’ original color palette was whites and pinks and soft mauves / gray. She absolutely loved the idea of dried flowers with lush and open blooms. The highlight florals were quicks and rose, earl grey roses, cappuccino rose, calcynia, secret garden rose, pampas grass, snowy jewel roses, and football mums.
Can you share any special moments or highlights of the day?
Ashton: The first highlight of the day was the amazing weather! It was a gorgeous and sunny day in September with no rain clouds in sight. This provided for glowy and beautiful light for pictures. Another highlight of the day would be that I was able to take photos of Kelly with her couple + the recreated arch which was very special. Her heart for her brides and grooms truly shines through in her work. She has a servant’s heart that is always eager to serve and celebrate her clients. She truly goes above and beyond to make sure her couples are taken care of. The third highlight would be when had Tess “pretend walk down the aisle” towards her groom. This was special because I got to capture Blake’s face in front of the arch as if he was seeing her for the first time (again) but this time in front of their beautiful arch!
This Ravenswood Mansion styled shoot with stunning florals is absolutely beautiful! Huge thank you to Ashton and Kelly for sharing it with us!
