Tell us about the vision!
Nicole: Our vision for our wedding was to create something a little unique to us that would be fun yet still reflect who we are. We had hoped to find the perfect venue for an elegant, upbeat yet creative atmosphere. It was important to us that it had movement in that we wanted a space for the ceremony, one for happy hour, and then for dinner and dancing so people were constantly moving and getting a change of scenery. It was also important to us to have creative, experienced vendors to allow us to enjoy the entire day.
What was their theme and what inspired it?
Nicole: Our theme was Kate Sade inspired. As I searched online for inspiration, I kept going back to the rich, bold colors which accented the black and white stripe I loved. Cedarwood, our wedding venue, then paired it beautifully with the mercury pieces for centerpieces and additional accent pieces throughout the venue which was absolutely gorgeous.
Can you share any special moments or highlights from your wedding day?
Nicole: One of the most special moments that I was originally against was seeing my fiancé before the wedding. Cedarwood and Celladora Photography made this one of the most memorable highlights of our day. Cedarwood styled our meeting with some personal items that were special to us and this proved to be just perfect! We were able to have amazing pictures pre-tears and have an opportunity to exchange gifts to each other which was a really nice touch. Celladora Photography was amazing! They took pictures of our first look and then gave us a moment together. Afterwards, we were a lot more relaxed and ended up having some of our best pictures from the day taken during this time. Another moment Kevin and I loved was writing our own vows. It was not easy to write and took some time but it was fun to hear sweet, funny references no one else would have been able to recreate. It is also nice to have the originals to look at afterwards because after such a long day, it was all so much to remember. Finally, our first dance together was pretty fantastic and unique! We decided we would do this at the ceremony right after the I do's instead of the reception. It gave us a chance to relax and have fun together while everyone still had a seat and their glass of champagne.
