Darien: “I must have flowers, always and always” said Monet and all the people out there that claim to be flower lovers like me. Flowers bring us joy, a sense of comfort and pure pleasure. In this day and age when we are still not sure about having big wedding celebrations thanks to the pandemic, some couples are opting for having micro weddings. With their marriage being the priority, the guest list may come down to a few, leaving room in the budget to elevate an intimate celebration with amazing details, gorgeous floral designs and getting top notch venues.
The venue where this editorial shoot took place, The Estate at Cherokee Dock, is a spacious 13-acre lakefront Estate that offers a wide array of picturesque settings that are perfect for capturing extraordinary photos.
The former Reba McEntire’s lakeside estate, turned into wedding venue, is located just 30 minutes outside of Nashville and can comfortably host up to thirty overnight guests, in their expansive eight-bedroom Mansion and cozy Carriage House. It is truly a dream come true for an intimate, yet elegant event.

Tell us about the shoot vision.
Darien: Inspired by Monet’s paintings! the shoot featured gowns from Marchesa, and dreamy florals by Nava Flowers. The vision was to make flowers the focal point, with flowers everywhere like Monet’s famous quote: “I must have flowers, always and always”
What was the theme and what inspired it?
Darien: The theme was Monet’s Garden. The palette was soft pastels, the gowns and the table settings had a very original, soft texture to them, just like the flowers in the garden. The elegance and uniqueness of the fabric were stand alone gorgeous, but the amazing bouquets complemented the fabrics so beautiful as well. The cake was inspired by Monet water lilies painting, a work of art in itself. Looking to inspire the couple that loves flowers, art and a good outdoor celebration in style.
What details were used to create the theme?
Darien: Definitely timeless romance was epitomized with soft textured fabrics, big peonies and roses in pastels color scheme. Candles were lit. and gold toned candlesticks, along with gold toned accessories and calligraphy were a nice added touch of elegance.
Can you share any special moments or highlights of the day?
Darien: The whole scene was seriously like taken out of a Monet’s painting, in particular when we were taking portraits by the water. It was pure magic working with this incredible team of wedding professionals in this amazing venue. I hope to inspire couples looking for an elevated, yet joyful look where what matters is the execution of the details, not the quantity. Just a few floral arrangements made the cut, but they were spectacular!
If we were to walk through Monet’s garden we can only imagine it’d look as jaw-dropping as this. It truly takes a talented team to pull off a vision as wonderful as this! Huge thanks to Darien Photography and this group of professional for sharing the perfect wedding inspiration for the flower lovers!
