Rhonda: Our mission is to allow our customers an experience that is welcoming and to exceed their expectations. We offer an unparalleled level of trained production staff and customer service specialists. What are your strengths compared to others cleaners & dress preservation services?
Rhonda: We are local and family owned. Oakwood Cleaners is Nashville’s only member of the Association of Wedding Gown Specialists and also Nashville’s only 5 star certified couture dry cleaner as members of Leading Cleaners International. We like to think we have an emotional connection to each dress or wedding ensemble that we service. It starts with our Customer Service Specialists as we inspect everything with the customer. Once the items are left with us we check them with a black light for invisible stains, do drawings and photograph to document everything before cleaning. We use the environmentally non-toxic solvent – GreenEarth. Each wedding dress is treated individually and is hand spotted layer by layer to ensure the best results before thoroughly cleaning, and is cleaned one at a time. Everything is done in-house by our fully trained staff with the full attention of our production manager at all phases of the cleaning or restoration process.
What attracts couples to Oakwood Cleaners?
Rhonda: The perfect client for Oakwood is the couple, bride or relative that wants personal, one on one communication with our staff. They will enjoy a relaxed atmosphere with comfortable seating, coffee or water while our customer service specialists inspects all aspects of the wedding attire with them explaining expectations and pricing so nothing is left to the imagination. They will also enjoy communication during the process in case any questions arise.
What is the most innovative new product, service, style or other aspect of your industry that brides and grooms might appreciate?
Rhonda: We have seen a heightened trend in using vintage heirloom gowns either worn as is, modified or used for other projects such as pillows, veils, etc. We have also seen quite a few gowns that are being made into evening gowns or cocktail dresses by cutting off the trains. We love helping customers with creative ideas such as these mentioned.
