Tell us about Glamour by Ness + how long you’ve been in business.
Manessa: I’m Manessa Lazare, owner and founder of Glamour By Ness LLC – Born and raised in Miami and a graduate of Nova Southeastern University with an MBA in Human Resources. My passion for makeup was birthed when I relocated to Orlando, FL to complete my Bachelor’s of Science in Health Services Administration at UCF, & later my MBA in HR at Nova Southeastern University. My inspiration came from the guru herself, Jackie Aina. Jackie’s tutorials provided an escape into a creative world I knew nothing about. Upon getting professionally certified in 2016, I began providing makeup services part-time while maintaining full-time employment as a Human Resources Business Partner, my second passion.
How did you get started in weddings?
Manessa: My first ever client was a beautiful bride circa Winter 2016; experiencing the sheer excitement, nervous energy, and the love that fills the room when a bride is getting ready for her big day is an indescribable feeling. And I get to be a part of that! My favorite part in the whole process is receiving the pictures and videos from the big day from clients because she gets to relive those special moments I was a part of.
What’s the philosophy behind Glamour by Ness?
Manessa: I view makeup as an art form, treating each makeup application as unique as my clients themselves. I have an undeniable passion and vision to develop Glamour By Ness into a unique Beauty brand. I get so much joy when my clients scream in awe of their makeup application, the joy that radiates from within is intangible.
What are your strengths compared to others in your category?
Manessa: I love building relationships with my clients. I am very mindful of cultivating and surrounding myself with positive energy; I am always encouraged to pass that energy along to all of my clients when they sit in my chair for an experience of a lifetime. I learn so much from my clients, life lessons: marriage, career, finances, and even new products to try. We always have a great time!
What is the most innovative new product, service, style or other aspect of your industry that brides and grooms might appreciate?
Manessa: I am always looking for new tips and tricks to enhance my client’s experience, and most importantly on making their makeup last for hours. I am an oily gal at heart; so within hours of applying my makeup, I need to touch it up.
