Lord of the Rings Inspired Wedding in a Cave

Some venues set a scene. Lost River Cave is the scene. Inside the hush of that limestone cavern makes it easy to see why Hannah and Mark knew this location was the one. Their intimate June wedding was a love letter to the things that make them them: wild places, good stories, and the people worth gathering close. A whisper of Middle-earth here, a pop of color there, and a Chef’s Market menu so mouth-watering good. It wasn’t a fantasy, exactly. It was better. It was real, warm, and quietly epic, and with a little one due in January, it feels like the first chapter of something even bigger. Go ahead and wander through the gallery captured by Brandon Keith Photography and meet the vendors behind every detail.

Tell us about the couple.

From Emily of Simply Sharp Events: Mark and Hannah met in September of 2022 on a dating app while they lived in Colorado. Hannah was attending university and Mark was stationed there for the Marines before getting out. They very quickly bonded over nature, movies, and their love of animals, moving in with each other after about 6 months. Hannah and Mark then moved to Mark’s hometown in Indiana where they now work at a wellness center, live on a small homestead, and train working dogs. After getting married in June of 2026, they are now expecting their first baby together, due in January, who they are very excited to welcome into their lives.

Tell us about the couple’s vision.

Emily: The couple wanted an intimate celebration. Guest experience was important to them, and food was at the top of that list! They were passionate about making the space beautiful as well, and once we visited the Curated showroom, it was a done deal!

What was their theme and what inspired it?

Emily: The couple wanted a Lord of the Rings themed wedding. They wanted the theming to be subtle and more of a nod to the series rather than right in your face.

What details were used to create their theme (color scheme, decor items, florals etc.)?

Emily: The beauty of the cave, the nature surrounding it, as well as having pops of color were important to them!

Did they have any special requests or unique challenges that you had to work together to overcome?

Emily: The couple lives out of state, so we had to strategically plan when we were doing site visits, tastings, etc!
