Lauren + Taylor's Lush Artisan Wedding by Firefly Events

A soft, romantic feel with an artisan touch is exactly what Lauren + Taylor were going for at their Ruby wedding. And Samantha + Michelle of Firefly Events curated the decor to a T! Guests were greeted with florals and greenery everywhere you turn, custom wooden signs with hand-written calligraphy and a personalized “B” gobo surrounded by lush greenery as the focal point for the day. Photography by Shea captured the bright and airy day with a careful eye and attention to detail. See all of their dreamy photos below!

Firefly Events on Lauren + Taylor: We first met Lauren and Taylor over lunch at Taco Mamacita on their lunch break. They are a perfect match with such a great vibe and likable manner. Lauren works in the music industry while Taylor is a landscape architect. Amid his crazy schedule, he always made time for our meetings and even spoke into the styling and floral selections. They are chill, but very present; agreeable, but deliberate. Lauren and Taylor were true joy to work with throughout their engagement and wedding weekend.

Firefly Events on the theme: The theme was modeled after a cocktail style garden party in a hip urban space. We used lots of greenery and blush tones for Lauren and Taylor's wedding styling. The greenery wreath encasing their “B” (for Butler) gobo over the band was something we added in lieu of a bunch of draping. It was a better fit for their reception and made a purposeful statement. The layout included banquettes from Liberty Party Rental lining the wall to add a living room feel to the long dining tables. It was a beautiful evening full of meaningful conversation among close friends and family.

As gorgeous and blissful as this wedding was, there is some heartbreaking news that comes with it. Lauren + Taylor's photographer, Shea Wright passed away soon after documenting their wedding. Firefly Events and Lauren expressed their deepest sympathies:

It is with fond memories and also sorrow that we remember Lauren and Taylor's beautiful wedding. Their photographer, Shea Wright of By Shea Photography passed away just two months after the wedding. A lifetime too soon. We had the pleasure of working with Shea and are forever thankful. She was a wonderful, hardworking and loving photographer, mom, wife, and friend. Our prayers are with all who knew her, especially for her husband and daughter. – Samantha + Michelle of Firefly Events

With a heavy heart I look back on these beautiful pictures the lovely Shea of By Shea Photography took of our wedding. We are forever grateful to have had the opportunity to know her. These pictures are a forever reminder of the wonderful soul and incredibly talented woman she was. We will cherish them always! – Lauren Butler, Bride

In loving memory of Shea and a lifetime full of love for Taylor + Lauren.
