How did you get engaged? Tell us about your proposal.

Laura: We got engaged at our house. Taylor tied the ring to our dog Cinnamon’s collar and she greeted at me at the door one Friday afternoon right before Christmas. It was a perfectly “us” proposal!

How many guests are you expecting?

Laura: 130

Who have you hired for your wedding team so far?

Laura: Planner–Ad Astra Events, Florist–Echoes of Eden, Caterer–Actual Food, Bar–J Jackson Mixologist, Rentals–Liberty, Venue–Eastwood Christian Church and Wilburn Street Studio

What’s your wedding style?

Laura: Modern, vintage, relaxed

What’s your most fun purchase/hire to date?

Laura: I have loved looking through floral designs and working with Kelly at Echoes of Eden was great. She really got my vision for modernly-styled wildflowers.

Tell us about your engagement session. Where did it take place?

Laura: We did a three-part engagement session. The first location (formerly Rumors East and now 615 Chutney) was at the bar/restaurant where we first met. Then we stopped by our house to grab a few photos at home and with our dogs. Finally, we ended at Cornelia Fort Airpark around sunset.

What’s the significance of the location(s)?

Laura: We live in and love our East Nashville community. We wanted to locations that represented places we love and visit often. Going back to the place we had our first date was particularly special.

What was it like working with your photographer?

Laura: Sara was fantastic. She was so easy to work with and made having a public photo shoot as natural and relaxed as possible.

Would you recommend the photographer and why?

Laura: Absolutely! Sara has such a wonderful, natural style to her photography. She captured some of the best little moments that really highlight who we are and how we are together!

Is there anything else you’d like to share with NBG readers?

Laura: Wedding planning during a pandemic is not for the faint of heart–good luck to all the other brides out there!
