Hannah Brown’s Engagement to Adam Woolard & Her New Novel

Powered by RedCircle

Hannah Brown’s story began in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, where she was born and raised before earning the coveted title of Miss Alabama USA in 2018. That achievement catapulted her onto national television, first as a contestant on Season 23 of The Bachelor and then as the leading lady on Season 15 of The Bachelorette. Brown’s warm sincerity and unfiltered authenticity quickly made her a fan favorite—and even earned her a People’s Choice Award. She later proved her dancing chops on Season 28 of Dancing with the Stars, taking home the mirrorball trophy alongside partner Alan Bersten. Most recently, she tested her limits on Fox’s Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test. Keep reading to learn more about Hannah Brown’s engagement to Adam Woolard and her new novel, The Four Engagement Rings of Sybil Rain.

Personal Growth and Firsts on the Road

For a small-town girl whose entire pre-television life unfolded within a 15-mile radius, the whirlwind of reality TV provided countless firsts. Brown’s first international flight—a 17-hour journey to Singapore—opened her eyes to the larger world. She also credits the experience with helping her confront and articulate her feelings: therapy sessions on camera taught her to communicate more openly, not only about romantic frustration but about her hopes and fears.

A 2020-Era Love Story

In November 2020, amid the height of the pandemic, Brown’s friend created a dating profile for her “just for fun.” After only a handful of dates, she met Adam Woolard on a dating app and felt an instant connection. With most activities shut down, the two spent every date outdoors—Brown famously rode off on her bike mid-first date, only to agree to a second one shortly thereafter. By August 2023, Adam knelt on one knee: the proposal, though lovingly orchestrated, had its share of hilarious mishaps, including a premature “warning” that nearly spoiled the surprise.

Choosing Growth Over Convention: Living Apart Before “I Do”

Perhaps most surprising to fans was Brown’s and Woolard’s decision to live separately in the months leading up to their wedding. After two years under one roof, they chose to honor their individual growth and faith journey by maintaining separate residences. While unconventional, the choice has garnered support from friends and faith leaders alike—and, according to Brown, has strengthened their communication skills and prepared them for marriage more than cohabitation could have.

Destination “Oui”: Wedding Plans in the South of France

The couple’s wedding will take place this summer in the South of France, the locale they fell in love with during a site-unseen venue visit. With an expected guest list of 70–100, they’re planning a welcome party that invites all attendees to mingle, followed by an intimate ceremony and reception. Brown describes her vision as “classic and romantic,” a celebration timeless enough to look back on without feeling “stamped” by any one trend.

From Memoir to Romance Novels: Writing as Passion

Outside of television and wedding planning, Brown is a two-time New York Times bestselling author. Her 2021 memoir, God Bless This Mess, candidly chronicles her life behind the scenes. In May 2024, she released Mistakes We Never Made, her debut romance novel, to instant bestseller status. This June, she’ll publish The Four Engagement Rings of Sybil Rain, a standalone sequel that deepens the story fans adored—exploring a runaway bride’s journey to self-love (and, yes, featuring four different proposals!). Brown likens the novel’s camaraderie of friends to Sex and the City, and promises a blend of heart, humor, and the messy magic of love.

Hannah Brown’s journey—from small-town pageant queen to multi-media personality, bestselling author, and bride-to-be—underscores her belief in growth, authenticity, and daring to write your own story. Whether she’s taking her first international flight, opening her heart on reality TV, or penning her latest novel, she inspires others to embrace life’s surprises with grace and grit.
