I love it when music brings a couple together – especially here in Music City. And Gina’s dream came true as she married a member of her favorite band Raven Cliff. After a surprise ski slope engagement, the couple began planning their wedding at Reunion Stay! Their outdoor mansion wedding gave way to beautiful spring colors and decor on a beautiful spring day. See their photos from Rafferty Photography below along with our interview with bride, Gina!

How did you guys meet?
Gina: I was staying in Nashville for a clinical rotation during physical therapy school. My mom, asked Zach, the guitar player of one of my favorite bands (Raven Cliff) if he would “show her daughter around” town knowing it was one of my first times in Nashville. Zach agreed figuring it would just be a kind favor… Little did he know, I would steal his heart the very night we met. We spent the next 6 weeks getting to know each other and decided a few months later that we had truly found something.
Tell us about your engagement!
Gina: During a family vacation to Breckenridge, Colorado, Zach decided he would utilize his own birthday to create a surprise of his own. The group met at the peak 20 min before I was told to arrive. Zach used the extra time to put a sticker on the bottom of his snowboard reading “Gina, will you marry me?” Zach positioned himself conveniently at the front of the photo, and after I was behind him, he flipped up his snowboard to face the camera. I, completely clueless, stood directly behind it, posing with friends, family, and the scenic mountain view. I was anxious to get back to the slopes and turned down multiple opportunities to check the photo. After some convincing by Zach and others, I finally took the phone and glanced once, twice, and then finally realized what was happening. I looked up to find Zach on one knee with a ring box in his hand. You can catch the video HERE!
What was the vision for your wedding?
Gina: A weekend full of friends, family, and celebration. We wanted to have more than a 3 hours reception to see all who had come so far to help us celebrate our special day. We stayed in a house, Reunion Stay, from Thursday-Sunday where the entire bridal party and their significant other’s could stay. On Friday evening, we had a “Welcome Party” following the rehearsal dinner at the house by the pool where all of our guests could come and socialize. Zach’s band, Raven Cliff, played for entertainment and for an opportunity for him to share what he loves with those who have not had the opportunity to see him yet. The morning of the wedding, the boys were able to get ready downstairs in the ‘game zone’ and the girls had the bridal suite. Everything for the weekend happened onsite and there was no stress having to travel around TN.
What was your theme and what inspired it?
Gina: We wanted a spring outdoor party. The entire wedding was outside during the time of year with all of the greenery, and the spring colors of the dresses and flowers.
What details were used to create your theme?
Gina: Our colors were periwinkle with peach accent. We used lanterns and string lights for our decor. The flowers by Geny’s Flowers had spray peach roses, periwinkle germanium, baby’s breath, and garland eucalyptus We also had our cocktail hour by the pool with tall boys and tea lights.
Where did you splurge and where did you save?
Gina: We splurged on our venue and catering and saved on our flowers, decor, and dessert,
What words of advice do you have for couples in the midst of planning?
Gina: This day is a celebration of your marriage and the life you have to live ahed. Things will happen, something WILL go wrong, but at the end of the day it is about the people you are with and the commitment you are making to eachother.
Can you share any special moments or highlights from your wedding day?
Gina: We stepped away from the crowd following the ceremony during cocktail hour to have a private dinner on the balcony of the house. We had time to soak in what had just happened and shared a private moment to appreciate everything that the day was.
