About the venue, from photographer Abigail Volkmann: This first detail that inspired this session was the location. The tree house chapel is a beautiful location that was built on the private property of a couple who wanted to create a non-judgmental place for couples to be able to get married. The owners were specifically thinking about same sex couples where they invested their time, money, property and resources into building The Chapel at Steward's Grove. The owners created this place and they “charge” a food donation to the local food pantry. Their generosity and kindess is really beautiful.
Photographer, Abigail Volkmann on the style: The amazing team of artist created a fall inspiration bringing in dark jewel tones and black with lots of “antique” versus “vintage” inspiration. We decided we think copper is the new gold, so we went with lots of browns, coppers, and brass with our dark jewel tones. The couple who was modeling was actually celebrating their 1 year anniversary, so we utilized this session as a chance to also capture their anniversary session. We cut the cake and popped a bottle and captured this BEAUTIFUL couple on their one year anniversary. It was truly a beautiful and special day to be able to capture with the most delicious red velvet cake.
