It’s Friday, so I’m sharing a super fun wine themed wedding with you! Elana + Anthony chose to get married in the “known for it’s wine” city Arrington, TN at The Barn at Sycamore Farms. Where did the theme come from? Anthony proposed to Elana at Arrington Vineyards and let’s just say, the theme stuck! From the burgundy accent colors to the family-sourced wine bottles and corks at every table, the details were perfect for a wedding in the Tennessee country. Nashville wedding photographer Kathy Thomas was there to capture every detail from their traditional outdoor wedding ceremony to the sparkler exit! See our interview with her below!
Tell us about The Raiolas!
Kathy: The couple met in college and started dating from that point since 2012. They were engaged in May 2017 after five years of being together.
What was their theme and what inspired it?
Kathy: Rustic elegance, timeless… they wanted an upscale Nashville barn wedding that tied in elements of wine. The groom proposed at Arrington Vineyards and the couple collected wine corks they shared with family and friends and had the corks on some of the guest tables so that everyone there had a special little part in their day.
What details were used to create their theme?
Kathy: They chose burgundy and ivory for the linens, classic black and white tuxes and burgundy bridesmaid dresses to incorporate the element of wine. Corks they collected with family and friends were placed on the tables along with lanterns, candles, and white roses with greenery. Marquee lights that spelled out “love” sat on the floor in front of their bridal table.
Can you share any special moments or highlights or their wedding day?
Kathy: Their first dance song was Brett Young “In Case You Didn’t Know” and the groom was able to reach out to Brett Young and surprise his wife with a video of congratulations before they started dancing. The mother son dance also started as a slow dance and turned into a choreographed mash up dance.
Did you have any special requests from the couple?
Kathy: We did the first reveal at Arrington Vineyards, where the groom proposed.
