Tell us about Diskin Cideer + how long you’ve been in business.
Diskin Cider opened its doors in May 2018 – owners Adam Diskin and Todd Evans saw potential in craft cider in the Nashville area and the southeast. Both were trained under Master Cider Maker Peter Mitchell prior to opening and taught the craft of making both traditional and non-traditional ciders.
How did you get started in weddings?
From day one, the intention was to double as an event space. The venue was designed to be very customizable for any type of social gathering. We started with small group gatherings such as birthdays, retirement parties, etc., and over the years, demand grew to host larger-scale events at the cidery.
What’s the philosophy behind Diskin Cider?
Our philosophy behind Diskin Cider is very simple. To introduce and educate Tennesseans and the Southeast on what craft cider is, and what makes Diskin Cider different. Our commitment to ourselves and our consumers is to stay true to the art of craft cider making. We strongly believe in creating experiences for our visitors to our Tasting Room, which is all a part of providing exceptional customer service.
What are your strengths compared to others in your category?
Diskin Cider’s space is extremely versatile. No event is off limits, from drag brunch to corporate conferences to formal weddings the space can be designed to fit any vision. Other amenities at Diskin Cider that set us apart are our spacious outdoor patio, large garage doors connecting to the patio, six restroom stalls, and giant DISCO BALL. We want to make hosting an event easy on our clients so we also include all of our in-house furniture with any private event rental.
What attracts couples to your Diskin Cider?
Couples are drawn to our venue for its vibrant social atmosphere, central location in Wedgewood-Houston, modern industrial design, fresh pressed cider, outdoor patio, and customizable floorplan. Our space attracts an adventurous duo who appreciate unique experiences. They’re captivated by the urban-industrial vibe and love sipping fresh cider on the cozy outdoor patio. Our customizable layout lets them create the perfect setting for their memorable moments.
What is the most innovative new product, service, style or other aspect of your industry that brides and grooms might appreciate?
Personalized micro-wedding experiences have emerged as a highly appreciated trend in the wedding industry. Couples are opting for intimate gatherings with a focus on meaningful details. This allows for more tailored celebrations, heightened guest experiences, and the ability to allocate resources more selectively, creating a more intimate setting at a lower cost.
