Cedars of Lebanon Park Engagement Session by Billie-Shaye Style

Embracing their love of the natural, rustic style, Audrey and Adam held their engagement session with an abundance of trees surrounding them. Not only did the two grow up going to Cedars of Lebanon Park, but it is also where they will say their vows to one another. The way the light peaks through the trees and their love glows, there’s no doubt you’re going to love these photos by the talented Billie-Shaye Style. Enjoy our favorites below!

How did you get engaged? Tell us about your proposal!

Audrey: February 2nd, 2019 My best friend Kellie and Adam (my fiancé) tricked me into thinking that we were just taking “family” photos. We were on my family farm in Shop Springs, Tennessee. Around sunset, we had made our way on top of the really big hill in the middle of the farm. On top of the hill is a panoramic view of Shop Springs. It’s just gorgeous!! Kellie started taking pictures and told Adam to spin me around like we are dancing. Mid spin Adam let go and when I turned around he was on one knee. He had it all planned out! It was a complete surprise.

How many guests are you expecting?

Audrey: 100

What’s your wedding budget?

Audrey: $10,000 We are trying our best to stick to it!

Who have you hired for your wedding team so far?

Audrey: I have an amazing wedding planner! Callie Heatherly of Callie Elyse Events. I was lucky enough to meet Callie years ago when we played softball together. After our engagement, Callie was my first wedding call! I am not very good with deadlines and planning, but she is GREAT! She has been that steady guide during this very exciting process. We’ve also hired Billie-Shaye Style (photographer), Paul Diamond (DJ) and Toni Ann Moss (The Beauty Room) for hair and makeup.

What’s your wedding style?

Audrey: An eclectic mix of natural, rustic, and vintage color. Boho with a splash of wildflowers.

What’s your most fun purchase/hire to date?

Audrey: The macrame wedding backdrop for our arbor.

What have you most enjoyed about being engaged?

Audrey: Everything! We have really slowed down this year. Taking a breather and loving this time. We have the rest of our lives. Living in this moment being engaged, having fun planning our wedding.

Tell us about your engagement session. Where did it take place?

Audrey: Our engagement session was at Cedar Forest State Park. There is one road that goes all the way through the state park. At the end of the little curvy road, there is a part where the tree canopy perfectly hugs the scenery. The trees are so tall you have to tilt your head back to see the top. This is my favorite spot in the park. Billie-Shaye was able to capture the love of that spot.

What’s the significance of the location?

Audrey: Cedar Forest is where we will get married. Adam and I both have grown up going to the park. It’s close to home, so cozy, and the nature is beautiful.

What was it like working with your photographer?

Audrey: It’s a dream, really. I have loved Billie-Shaye’s work for years. Her talent of capturing the love and warmth of couples has always touched me. I was like a kid on Christmas morning when the date finally came around for our engagement session. We jumped right in like we had all know each other for years. It was comfortable.

What did you like most about the session?

Audrey: I loved it all. I really liked how it was “our” session. It was unique to us.

Would you recommend the photographer and why?

Audrey: Yes, times a million! Her god given talent and passion for her work comes through in her photographs. There was none of the ‘how should I stand” or “where do I look” stress. She is a true professional with a personality that makes you feel like old friends. Billie-Shaye has a unique ability to capture love, happiness and warmth of couples in every wedding and engagement session.

Billie-Shaye Style truly knows how to make some magic! We love these engagement photos so much and can’t thank Audrey and Adam enough for sharing them with us!
