When Liv Schreiber set out to make friends in New York City, she never anticipated that her journey would lead to the creation of two viral brands—Camp Social and Hot & Social. What began as a simple solution to post-college loneliness has evolved into a powerhouse community, redefining how adults connect and build friendships. Today, Liv’s movement has grown to over 300,000 followers, a waitlist of over 100,000 people, and a seven-figure business backed by major brands like Amazon, Eddie Bauer, and Nutella. But beyond her incredible entrepreneurial success, Liv’s personal life has had its own love story—one that began in the most unexpected way.

The Birth of Camp Social and Hot & Social
Liv’s story starts with a simple question: how do you make friends as an adult? In 2019, she was a real estate broker, feeling the weight of loneliness in a bustling city. A follower asked her for advice on making friends in New York, and Liv realized she didn’t have a good answer. So, she decided to throw a party where everyone arrived solo but left as friends. That single event became the catalyst for Camp Social and Hot & Social—two communities that are transforming how people build meaningful relationships.
Camp Social hosts an annual sleepaway retreat, welcoming over 900 women from around the world for a weekend of connection, fun, and fearless friendship. Meanwhile, Hot & Social curates monthly, sold-out dinner parties where strangers sit together, guided by conversation cards and cocktails, to meet their next best friend. With events generating six-figure brand deals and fostering thousands of friendships, Liv’s impact is undeniable.

From the Elevator to Forever: Liv & Kyle’s Love Story
While Liv was busy creating a movement, fate had its own plans for her love life. Her now-fiancé, Kyle, entered her world in the most unexpected place—an elevator. The night before their first encounter, Liv had written a list of qualities she wanted in her future partner. The next afternoon, she found herself face-to-face with Kyle, standing in the elevator with two garbage bags in hand.
“I said hi, and he thought I was flirting, but I’m just a really friendly person,” Liv laughs. “But honestly, in my head, I was like, that is Uber Eats a husband.”
Kyle left his number on a Post-It note with the doorman, and Liv unknowingly shoved it in a kitchen drawer for months. When they crossed paths again, she realized he was the guy from the elevator and decided to give him a chance.
Their First Date and the Signs That Led to Love
Their first date took place at Little Branch, a dive bar in NYC. Liv, known for her vibrant energy, showed up in white cowboy boots and a red corset—an outfit choice that, in hindsight, felt perfectly aligned with Kyle’s Nashville roots as a Vanderbilt alum. But what truly made their love story feel destined were the serendipitous signs along the way.
Before moving into her apartment, Liv had lost a beloved nanny who had helped raise her. In a twist of fate, she wasn’t even supposed to see the unit she ended up renting. When she asked the broker what unit it was, he simply said, “It’s for you.” It wasn’t until she looked at the door that she saw the unit number: 4U.
“I don’t know if you’re into woo-woo stuff, but the whole background to meeting Kyle felt a little angelic,” she says.

Three Years Later: Engagement and Lessons in Love
Liv and Kyle dated for three years before getting engaged. Unlike the traditional love-at-first-sight stories, Liv admits that she wasn’t immediately certain he was “the one.” She was in her mid-20s, navigating what she truly wanted in a partner. But Kyle’s patience and steady nature proved to be exactly what she needed.
“I used to think I wanted someone who was a party guy, always in the scene, super flirtatious,” Liv shares. “But looking back, I realize what I wanted three years ago isn’t what I want now. Kyle is grounding, solid, and exactly what I need.”
Their relationship officially became serious on Kyle’s birthday, December 11th. “I said, ‘Yes, I’ll be your girlfriend. Happy birthday!’” she recalls.
Now, as they embark on their next chapter together, Liv continues to inspire through her entrepreneurial journey and her love story—both of which prove that sometimes, the best things in life happen when you least expect them.
